Elon is a demented wind-up toy.

Round and round he goes.

Elon is still the nut worst living human, but I gotta say, the rest of his fellow AI "effective accelerationist" types creep me out just as much. One day AI will be able to do more than create the world's ugliest art and spit out 25% accurate information to people looking to cheat on their college paper, and once that day arrives, the Sam Altmans of the world just might successfully impose a state of serfdom on the rest of the country or planet.

"What's the problem? Oh, 30% of the Earth's land is now practically uninhabitable due to climate change? Well, don't fret, we have a little shack set up JUST FOR YOU on Lord Altman's secondary compound!"

AI is such a cult. On a basketball forum I've seen multiple posters advocate for AI referees to replace human ones. And they're not talking about some time in the future, they think this would work RIGHT NOW. My dudes, AI currently can't even successfully render a human hand in motion...

I preface this post by saying I am deeply cringed out by the AI/Selfdriving muckbangers

There is objectively a place for AI in menial low stakes contexts. Where I work utilizes some form of AI as a catch all for all questions to get answers for regulatory compliance procedure. For the most part it works well. Fine tuning that kinda shit I can completely abide by

Having a raging boner for whatever you think the endgame of openAI is is….weird

Having a raging boner for whatever you think the endgame of openAI is is..weird

Does it become a little less weird when you consider that many of the prominent AI evangelists are directly and indirectly associated with your boy "Leon"?

I was clearly being a bit dramatic by going on about serfdom and the like. But I do genuinely believe that the ardent AI obsessives are revolting creeps who are a danger to humanity.

I don’t disagree

I know Altman and Leon despise each other but both are complete scumbags

And the people who worship at the alter of either or just depraved incels with no concept for anything resembling empathy or humanity

I don't think you were. There are people building island communities for their own ilk, constructing lavish survival bunkers and planning to colonize mars.

Should these weird ideas come into play, you do not have to be a genius to realize that none of us ordinary peons will be able afford the price of admission.

From events in the last months, it also seems clear that these people surround themselves with loyalists, because people with integrity would tell them how incredibly stupid they are. So, those that hope to hitch a hypothetical ride on their brilliance, don't get your hopes up.

Now, I'm not a conspiracy theorist in the sense that I think there is some grand plan in place. I think it is mostly just greed, opportunism and selfishness that manifests itself in a series of semi-related acts and hot takes. However, I think that alone is more than enough to reason that anybody should reject these people in government at every possible venue.

Poor Leon :*(

Let's talk about people doing things on stages. Deriving joy from an overvalued stock correcting doesn't compare at all, in terms of evil, to parading around with a chainsaw and metaphorically, delightfully, mocking 100s of thousands of people losing their jobs.

Could his moronic politics, combined with lack of real value produced by his companies, pop the Elon bubble? Or are we just going to, at all costs, preserve a system that elevates carnival barkers above all other species of men?

100% this.

by coordi k

Elon is just doing what he always does: using capital from overinflated valuations on fugazi products to save a failing business

Should've at least made the Tesla cordless chainsaw 😀 Seemed like a no-brainer winner to me--trumpers would've ate it up lol

Thank Jeebus Elmo failed at buying the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

Yup
Tho Florida still holds ….

Kind of a bait since hes scheduled to run his limit around June.

Musk has definitely been less visible lately though, and Wisconsin is a decent blow to his aura

Eh, could be some kite-flying

OTOH Musk does seem to be having a bit of a breakdown live.

If things keep getting worse for MAGAs, he'll be the first one in the Wicker Man imo

I think the limit was june 2027 not 2025.

There are early data analysis for Wisconsin that paint the convincing picture that Musk active campaigning is detrimental for republicans.

So given he is a smart person he should leave (at least for now) public campaigning to others, and just finance/coordinate behind the curtains. Let's see if that happens or not

The limit is 130 days

Special government employees are limited to working for the government for no more than 130 days out of a 365-day period, though they can work multiple years, and they can either be paid or unpaid.

by coordi k

The limit is 130 days

ah sorry i thought you meant DOGE limit, which is actually july 2026 so i remembered that wrong as well, in the EO istituting DOGE Trump decided to make it temporary

by Luciom k

So given he is a smart person ...

Do we have any data to back that up?

i can see this thread going far

Another accurate prediction from our prognosticator.

Have already got contacted by 3 engineers with Tesla this year asking for career help, though I’m not really in any of their fields. Not on LinkedIn or BS public emails. All either knew personal friends of mine from my under/grad school or work to get these contact methods. Said I’d have lunch with one of them next week. Kinda curious what it’s like there now.
