Israel / Iran thread
Seems like this conflict is not going to end anytime soon and is worthy of its own thread.
^^^Corner-cutters automatically shout "biased" rather than engage with the specific arguments and data.
It's a factual statement. It would be euphemistic to say otherwise.
Not at all as there is no argument- it uses a Putin lickspittle X account, such as Tyler Weaver, (who has claimed that Zelensky is a drug addict, not a "real Jew" and was hiding in a bunker in Poland, among other gems) as an actual source. There is no argument here, except in the Tanki/Putin apologist universe.
To claim Israel's ass kicking of Iran is "an unmitigated disaster" is pure flat Earther denial and that excuse for an article is simply horseshit. But think what you like.
By all accounts "radical Islam" does not seem to be a part of the new govt. I was recently listening to a podcast discussing the various factions of Al Qaeda, and it was brought up that many in Al Qaeda viewed "radical Islam" as a means more than an end. For many, the objective was to remove "foreign" influence (be it US, Iran, Hezbollah, or Baathists) from the region, but be
They actually do strike me as radical Islamist, albeit currently taking a softly softly approach.
theres nothing soft about their approach. they have massacred 10s of thousands of Alawite, Christian, and Shia Syrians.

Bill, youβre citing a fringe news source that contradicts βthe dataβ so I hope you can appreciate the irony here.
Klarenberg is one of the best investigative reporters out there
Doesnβt seem to be the case based on what Bill posted.
as long as Arabs and Persians and Shia exist as a sovereign people they have won. Israel is a project of extermination by the West and they dont win until they "kill em all Bibi".
What in Odin's name are you talking about? Israel is a jewish ethnostate, jews are from the Levant. I understand they control your government but they're not "the West".
Jewish puppetmasters huh? Never heard that one before.
after 3 decades, bibi finally got his "victory lap".
President of Iran is a Western appeaser if not outright asset
He's pushed for better relations with the West since his term. He's once again engaging in negotiations with the USA despite the fact that they killed the last negotiators.
Why was Pezeshkian not assassinated during the last aggression? Why wasn't he on any hit lists or threatened in any way?
The president of Iran has no power so why would anyone want to take him out? Everything Victor posts is intentionally dishonest or fueled by ignorance. Maybe he thinks Iran is a democracy lmao.
they took out the last president of Iran
It's been three decades of cyber attacks, bombings and assassinations that have kept Iran from getting the bomb. Enlisting the US to bring in the big boy bombs has made Israel's job a lot easier.
I would say making deals like the JCPOA have been just as important. That being said, the JCPOA allowed Iran to destabilize most of the Arab world and threaten Israel through Arab paramilitary proxies. So definite argument it made things worse than just allowing Iran to build a nuclear weapon, although with counter-factuals you can never really know.
Given how much the IRGC has been weakened regionally, at home and abroad, I would say their most likely response will be to go for broke and develop a nuclear weapon. And I doubt Israel on its own will be able to stop this, and no one else seems interested in doing anything. So at some point the US will have to decide whether to stop this or not using force. And precedent says it probably wont, especially in a post Trump world (just as it didn't with actors like Pakistan and NK).
and in a world where so many now sympathise with Iran needing to be able to defend itself

If Iran thought he was a western asset they would just kill him I feel like thatβs pretty obvious. But maybe you know something the IRGC doesnβt.
