Trump 2nd term prediction thread

Trump 2nd term prediction thread

So, looks like Trump not only smashed the electoral college, but is looking on track to win the popular vote, which seems to be an unexpected turn of events, but a clear sign of the current temperature in the country and perhaps the wider world.

Would be interested to hear views on how his 2nd term will pan out from both sides of the aisle - major happenings, what he's going to get done, what he's not going to get done, the impact of his election on the current conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, whether his popularity will remain the same, wane, or increase, etc.

A bit of an anemic OP, I know, just interested to hear people's thoughts now that the election uncertainty is over.

I agree !
So to me gaetz (and anyone else with the same history sheet ) is just a piece of $h!t and shouldn’t have access to that kind of position ….

he isn't a great person, but maybe you fail to realize many government posts are **** and should be disrespected, their department dismantled into ruins, their agencies burnt to the ground, that's the idea.

government should be shrinked significantly and putting a shitty name into a formerly relevant department is one way to try to achieve that.

but as I said I'll wait a bit, not even clear if trump intent is actually to get him appointed for real

Gee. A politician actually following through with an election promise. How shocking.

I haven't seen any evidence to suggest that President Trump doesn't from the bottom of his heart wanna make america great. For example, if he opened up the boarders to invite anyone and everyone into the country freely like your party did, then I would have a different view.

If America wasn’t already great , why having such a big immigration problem ?
Are people that stupid to move to a lesser environment just for fun ?

So I’m curious what period (years) you allude too for America to be great again ?

they don't get the idea that the intention to vastly destroy government is real this time.

they don't understand Musk nor Trump.

trump doesn't give a **** about size of government if it works for him to be praised around and be allowed to play golf and be considered important.

Musk cares deeply about moving back to an era where government was 1/10 than today. he won't accomplish that but he might get a -20% in after all is said and done which would he better than any other presidential term in American history (for people like me that deeply hate government being as big as it is).

it's in agenda 47 in several points.

deep state : career civil servants in key areas (defense, DOJ, intelligence and so on)

He will nominate him with using clause to escape the senate and second , it doesn’t matter what you think about some government post …
That AG is pretty important , so stop trying to excuses piece of $h!t like gaetz !

Or just admit you don’t care about the law if it’s something you like .

Are you suggesting that Trump nominated some of these people precisely because they are incompetent and will bring their respective agencies into disrepute?

It’s right from project 2025 ….

What you alluded never was implying anything about the doj,fbi .

The concept of DS is hilarious , without defining what it is , you can blame anyone and anything on it and terminated it .
Great little fascist strategy , finding an undefined reason to terminate any opposition in your path .

True freedom !

for Gaetz I am still here waiting, he might have just wanted him out of Congress because he is a troublemaker within a thin majority that Trump needs to act like soldiers do to be able to pass anything.

If gaetz ends up nominated, one part will be what you expect: 0 ethics and who cares about illegality when a pardon is expected and you trash and cut all cases you want and so on. Then he will misplay something, get fired, be blamed for whatever didn't work, and substituted.

the other part will be initiating a disruption of the department, hopefully to make it unrecognizable in 4 years. lawyers fleeing to other, better jobs in the private sectors and so on.

more than disrespute in that case, he wants to do to it what Romans did to Carthago.

he can't outright eliminate it easily as the DoE, or as he will hopefully try with EPA (gonna be funny to see if EPA can be abolished in reconciliation), but will try to leave it as a shadow of it's former self with greatly diminished powers, reputation, clout , and role on American society.

hopefully: he might fail at that.

/

for the DoD name which I can't remember how to spell, no I think he wants a complete outsider of the hierarchy (but with knowledge of the militaries) to try to tackle corruption and deep state (IE people not aligned with Trump political preferences) a little better.

no intention to demote the military reputation or anything like that, but there is stuff to change and they will try. they will very probably fail

by Brian James k

They voted for Trump in part because he promised to take a wrecking ball to the deep state. The Gaetz pick as AG is entirely consistent with that promise.

This is a terrible argument. The only saving grace of Gaetz is that he probably will be too incompetent to be a truly effective wrecking ball. There is no possible justification for filling the government with people who may be too incompetent to achieve the objectives you set out for them.

Gaetz managed to have a speaker of the house of his own party, and liked by Trump, kicked in the ass though

If Trump wanted to Gaetz out of Congress, all he had to do was make that known (which he could have done quietly or noisily) and let the Congressional investigation run its course.

If Trump nominated Gaetz to be head of the DOJ because he didn't see any better way to get Gaetz out of Congress, then Trump is dumber than even his most fervent detractors suspect.

they spent millions to primary Gaetz and failed and trump had other stuff to attend to.

he might have been told to get rid of him because of house mechanics

Not if people have the vaccine. Biden said if you take it you're immune.

So really it would only be the people that don't take it that are impacted so that's a risk they sign up for.

Are you...listening to a politician for medical advice?

You really think McCarthy and Trump actually like each other? That seems highly unlikely to me.

What?

Told by who? Now you think Trump takes orders from Republicans in Congress?

What other choice do they have but to suggest that?

by Montrealcorp k

Who ?
Are they in power ?
What were their actions hurting against conservatives you can relate too ?

Not I don’t believe you but want to know what we talking about ?

I don't know. How about the umpteen examples of leftists mocking conservatives and telling them to go cry to their magical sky daddy when things don't go their way?

by housenuts k

What?

Uh, yeah I deleted that because I didn't see the context. Not complicated.

I have no idea what that means, but do you not admit and correct errors? Are you implying that's bad for some reason? That wouldn't surprise me.

Cool? To be clear, I don't care what Mark Cuban did and wasn't asking.
