Regular Run of the Mill NO LIST Codenames!
Post if you want in, ideally 8 people but the normal game - guess your stuff and ideally go fast bolding away a guess at a time(Snapguess + guess + etc). Spirit of the game is to just bold away at what you think, keep 0-1 max backup and go quick.

The Onion would lead to press; but garlic gets pumpkin/olive/press so I like glass more
For Academy we don’t have list in this version but discussed racket the most so I think that would be what he’d expect us to likely guess
We could also just do 3 Onion words and not worry about makeup yet
But that’s trickier in a no list game so we should prolly just guess something
Glass our first and must guess imo, good to bold that
I liked press a lot but does make it tough to pick between pumpkin and olive, pumpkin probably better?
I think we ignore press for now and guess the two vegetables after glass
They are by far safer; don’t need another star
yeah we don't need to pick, just guess both
I thought press was just one of our words for sure cause of The Onion...
i mean it's the same situation as last turn. would rather guess things that will never be blue first. and pumpkin/olive are equally safe
you guys both want glass first tho, right?

Though nothing is really a lock.
No love for marble as the quality of beef?
Eh, not really. It's a 2-step connection and easily missed imo.
Grunching:
Conductor - occupation
Glove - butchers wear gloves
Marble - cutting surface?
Press - tool used by butchers I think?
I still want Giant at least for Unit. "Absolute Unit" is an expression I forgot at first, referring to an impressively large individual.
I'd start
Glove
Conductor
Giant
Marble
Press

Reading you guys:
I'm higher on Marble now. I like Tower for Unit as well. Ties into the Cell Tower concept I liked, and 'towering' is also another word for giant. Dice is a good call, as it is a specific cutting technique. But also to me raises equity for conductor and marble, to bring us to butcher instead of a more generic cooking clue.
In some order:
Glove
Conductor
Marble
Dice
Tower
Unit
Bottles
What's the reasoning for Spike?
When I think of butchers, I think of sharp tools/hooks/etc, so spike stood out to me. They also have those little price tag spike thingies in the meat.
I really don't like conductor at all. If I was gonna guess another occupation, I'd go vet because that's at least animal related, but I generally don't like those sort of connections unless it's a last resort.
But I think we should guess tower and giant above everything except for maybe glove.
