Regular Run of the Mill NO LIST Codenames!

Post if you want in, ideally 8 people but the normal game - guess your stuff and ideally go fast bolding away a guess at a time(Snapguess + guess + etc). Spirit of the game is to just bold away at what you think, keep 0-1 max backup and go quick.

Unlimited would've been a terrible option in your position if it was for 3 words. You would've clued 3 so we can guess the 3 obvious wooden words with no confusion, and pick up Washington from before. That would leave us with 2 words left and you could either give a 1 clue or a 2 clue if fish somehow happened to be wrong. Not cluing unlimited in that spot doesn't mean 2nd word is wrong necessarily, and I know you know that.

Unlimited is superior to n-1 IN CERTAIN SITUATIONS. I have explained what they are multiple times before, but you somehow are just not getting it. I have no interest in rehashing the debate tho and I know you'll never be convinced, so let's just leave it at that.

Ok

card being face up is a thing

Yolo

Wow. Nice.

unlimited is a bad option because you lose communication of how many words your clue is for...that is made up for by getting multiple on the list, so we use it for makeups, but using it when only top word is correct is just getting the bad with no benefit and adding confusion for your team

Unlimited is going for it on 4th and long because field position doesn't matter if you need a score.

I don't know what your situations are and don't recall seeing them; just that you posted recently that you agree with ervin on using unlimited over n-1, so that's why I lump you with him

I would definitely want to know when you use unlimited because I will respect that when you are spymaster, just like if ervin does unlimited at end of a round I'll treat it like an n-1 since I know that's what he's doing...my goal is to win the rounds when winnable, not be "right" about some argument over which is best way...but I do post about these a lot when they come up so that people are very clear on my positions and won't misunderstand my clues...which is why this game where you said I'd do 2 or 4 only, and not 3, which is incorrect, I felt I had to argue and set the record straight so in future games players don't think that's a rule I have

I just want people to know how I clue so that our communication is clear and I want to know how others clue so that I listen to them properly when they clue...I defend n-1 because I think it's best, I want others to know that I use it and why, and I prefer in a game where we have a mix of 10 different people over 3 games over many years if we all use similar styles so we don't have to memorize tons of quirks...but knowing you/ervin both do unlimited instead of n-1 isn't much to memorize so I can roll with it, but now you saying you only do it in CERTAIN circumstances definitely has me wanting to know what those are so that I know how YOU clue and I can be the best guessing partner possible for you when we are on the same team

If we have 2 or 3 words left, I will always clue unlimited if next word on the list is correct.

If 3 words are left, unlimited could be for 1 or 2 words, but that should be easy enough to work out from the clue. If I give a 2-clue, you can work out if you should stop or find another word based on game state/makeups.

More than that I'll just do n-1 as normal.

Ok thanks

briskly - 2

usually brisk is used for walking or wind or talking...nothing here is super popping out, but here are some options to consider:

amazon - gets you your packages quickly
book - maybe you read a book quickly
lightning - people use this for rapid things also; fast as lightning, quick as lightning, etc
minute - the short time period evokes same things as fast walking or quick replies
note - a brisk note, but this is briskly, not brisk
press - also the short time period, pressing someone to act, etc
snap - doing something quickly is to do it in a snap

but he used briskly, not quickly or even brisk; brisk would be more for wind and is an adjective while briskly is the adverb form, so applies to actions...like walking or talking briskly

I like minute and snap. Seems like an odd clue, but I assume he was just trying to avoid lightning.

I’m good with those 2

IBD, thoughts?

Maybe press over snap actually

You press someone to do it briskly

Snap>>>>>press imo. I might even like it more than minute.

Ok; if IBD agrees then bold

If not, we’ll discuss

Minute
Snap

Oh right, thanks
