Maybe I’m just burnt out on codenames or something, but this game was particularly brutal. Like zero wavelengthing whatsoever.

how the **** did we miss that
what did you mean by unlimited so we know for the future?
if shed is wrong, he clues 3 (or maybe unlimited)
if shed is right, he clues 2
if shed AND prior word on our list are both correct, he clues unlimited with an exact hit (like metric for meter) on the final word
if shed is wrong and our 2nd word on list is correct, he clues 3 (if can tie all 3 together) or he clues unlimited
bc he did such a weird word that is trying to tie 2 words together, this is that last case I believe, which I think is coast, but need to look back
It was the first thing you said here. I didn’t regard coast as part of the list because it wasn’t part of the list the last turn. You guys were going to close out Norway with Alaska and had coast as the backup in case Alaska wasn’t right. As soon as Alaska flipped red (thanks to the blue team), coast needed to be abandoned. If you weren’t going to abandon it, then it needed to stay on the list, which somehow randomly became shed.
I had thought up plenty of options for a 3-clue that combined Lap/Meter/Part, but mile was getting in the way from an athletics standpoint and degree was in the way from a car clue. And we absolutely had to win it here, so I was trying to force you guys to go back to dance and figure out the third word.
it was abandoned
shed was just a shot in the dark to help you with n-1 in case it was ours as something that could be hard to group with other words
unlimited is the only reason we went back to coast...because unlimited usually means 1+ words that we mentioned before...but we never mentioned part or lap or meter so I'm still not understanding why unlimited
was it just 'stretchy clue?' meaning instead of doing a 3 clue? or 'go back and look at dance again to notice LAP (still can't believe we missed that)'?

Unlimited means 1+ mentioned words when the clue absolutely cannot hit more than one word. A clue like rhythm would be a terrible way for me to only clue meter. Legitimately awful.
Unlimited was to say “two words not clued yet and go realize that you somehow missed lap.”
if only we thought of lap, the game is different
we go lap/step/spring/Alaska/pass/sock/date/figure
spring is neutral and then they get Alaska for us
we now have 5 words so need 4 more: meter/date/space/part
you can either do cotton again so we go date/figure like before, or you go with 4 clue so we know sock isn't ours
if you do cotton, then they still get space for us, then just need meter+part for final clue
it cannot be a winning strategy to think that somehow an unlimited clue at the end can mean “you lucked your way into mentioning a word that I never clued, and it’s the only word you’ve mentioned outside of the list you made last round.”
I hadn’t yet clued all nine words. The clue I gave was not specific enough for a 1-clue. A 2-clue forces you to guess shed (which I still don’t understand it being the list). A 3-clue would’ve pushed things too far imo. Of course unlimited had to equal exactly two.
I should’ve just done a 3-clue, I guess.
I meant 1+ as in (one or more) words that we mentioned before
most common usage: go down your list (2+ words)
second most common usage: 1st on list is wrong, 2nd on list is right
third most common: you ****ed up earlier so go figure out where you missed an obvious word for earlier clue
we knew it couldn't be the most common bc rhythm doesn't hit just one word, so that was out
we honed in on the second
completely missed lap, even when realizing we needed another dance word
:(
It’s all good, sometimes the game doesn’t go the way we want. And I know I contributed to the amount of time this game took, but there has to be a way for this **** to not take weeks. We started this game on June 19th ffs.
yeah I already said earlier all the reasons why coast shouldn't be ours...but without seeing lap, just didn't see what else it could be
missing lap is just ridiculously bad
we should just try a 24 hour after clue is given time limit; force people to discuss and make decisions faster
Nich v eb
I thought the Aldrin clue would have ended it. I was trying to wait for space to get guessed by the other team, but never happened. I thought Aldrin was specific enough to remove space given I could've done something like Apollo to be less specifically Astronaught if I was trying for that and space, but no big. I gotta say, that starting discussion on our last clue had me shaking lol. There was a an obvious list so I did expect the only two options to be what Eb was saying. Y'all came around eventually tho. This board was not easy from the start
MILE and SOCK. It definitely was a hiking reference then. Solid clue, solid clue.
I think IBD and I were just hoping the other would clear blockers the entire match lol
Missing lap dance is inexcusable lol
I'm just too old now, I guess, I haven't been to a strip club in 20 years
I'll be red if this is odd.

Stick out as strong answers. After that, I think there's a few options:
Copper is a common material in cookware
Ground is a common way of preparing meat
Heart and Rabbit are less common ingredients, but are used in fine dining
Snow is a fancy pants way of preparing an ingredient
Teacher - ties in well with culinary school
I think that leaves me at

I agree with almost everything except I’d put teacher in the top six and would move heart out. I’d also consider lab as The Food Lab is one of the most breakthrough culinary books of the last decade.
