Drill and...pin?

Yeah, I think so. I was thinking Stock (stock, stock lol) possibly, but Lowe's - 2 is such a slam dunk for drill/stock, I don't see it being anything else. Perhaps Eye and Stock as backup?

I guess what concerns me is that drill and pin are kinda similar metallic pointy things.

Is lathe really the best clue for those?

They are kinda dangerous, is it possible that ambulance is in the mix?

I'm still uneasy about this drill/pin thing.

I guess if drill isn't one of these then we're just wasting time.

Idk, I feel like the same consideration applies to drill/ambulance. Like, how is lathe the best word for that? Emergency would be really good for those two, imo. It hits both on its own, with only Helicopter maybe being possible, but then something like 'trauma' might be better for those (trauma hawk alluding to helicopter). I think drill/pin are the best two words for lathe, even tho lathe might not be the best clue for those two words, iykwim.

The only ones I remotely see possible are

Ambulance
Stock - wood/metal stock to carve down
Pin - that's what the material would attach to
Eye - eye protection

and way down

Missile - possible shape a lathe could carve, but feel like like missile/drill has some better word like bomb or shelter

Agree with that.

Something like emergency (or anything else medical) could bring eye into the mix. I don't think I'll ever think that lathe is a good clue for drill/eye.

Thoughts on passing in this spot? I'm very uneasy about all of our options, and they still need 4.

I'm good with passing.

The more I think about it, the more I like it. I don't want to take their "need to get" down to 3 when we don't really have a great idea what our last word is.

So, helicopter is out.

At first pass I’m thinking Czech/agent/fall/…..stock? Like, someone being “of good German stock.” I basically only feel good about Czech.

Agent could work, tho British is stronger for agent (but maybe weaker for missile)

Fall could work maybe but I kinda had it out due to shelves but maybe that’s wrong

Yeah, and fall + Czech seems like a really decent opportunity to clue Roman, so there has to be a specific connection to German here that we’re just not catching yet.

Ambulance - Germany known for cars; was the modern ambulance from Germany?
Calf - don't see it; they like their meat, but more pork (brats and such)
Cloak - maybe something here
Eye - didn't nazis care about blue eyes being best or some ****?
Fall - fall of the Berlin Wall; may have to guess it
Helicopter - out due to not going n-1
Leprechaun - not German and doubly out because he woulda gone Irish
Missile - I like this for the war stuff
Pin - there were nazi pins; this could be lathe tho
Stock - could be lathe as well
