Not sure if this was sarcastic, but a sales tax on all purchases is actually regressive. The less wealthy you are the greater percentage of your income and wealth you spend. Meaning if all we had was a sales tax poor people would be disadvantaged

I'm talking specifically about stock trades. cuz we were talking about taxing unrealized gains in stocks... I think.

Unrealized gains is money just sitting around making money not being sold or anything.

Now that I actually have money accumulating money it seems like more of a scam.

Without billionaires who will [strike] show up 30 minutes late and shoot your dog[/strike] organize child sex rings.

my unrealized gains aren't making more money. it's just a matter of time til i lose it all and then more. like btc.

Oh ok that makes more sense

birdman, or anyone....

do you have an opinion on BTC. some leftists hate it, and some love it. my view(pretty uninformed) is that it's basically a scam. made up money. but all money is made up. it's just a matter of who is making it up. so now it's some BTC guys making it up, instead of the usual guys.

kinda similar to the internet(but not really), in that information used to be controlled by the major corporations. then for about half a minute there were some new people controlling it, and even seem communal control. but then the corporations just took it all over.

yeah it's absolute bullshit that you have to pay tax to buy gas to take your kid to school, and go to work and buy groceries. pay tax to buy a phone, computer, clothes, etc... but there is no tax to buy a billion dollars in stock, or a thousand, or a hundred.

Who's been following the Seedance 2.0 video AI generator? I'm impressed.

RIP Hollywood

No.

The only time I have had it was to buy drugs online.

I thought it came out that Epstein/mossad/CIA was likely in full control of btc starting shortly after it was created

BTC is a black market servicer propped up by a pyramid scheme.

Blockchain as a distributed contracts platform should be a paradigm-shifting phenomenon, but it has been seized by cryptobros and scam artisans (remember NFT's?) to the extent that decent people are now too reticent to make the climb to understanding and broader adoption.

I don’t know why sometimes when I try to post something it posts like 5 times

how does Epstein run the most heinous scheme in modern history, at the height of wealth and apparently the cutting edge of infotech, and use a gmail account for it all??

really this guy didn't have a private, proprietary mail server?

I'm glad you have asked this because it opens up the idea of what privacy is, what security is, and how to operate illegally without drawing attention.

A private email server is useless. No one will communicate with it because guess what comes from private email servers? Spam and viruses. You want a big safe provider everyone knows. Hi I'm Jeff from Gmail.

Privacy, in the sense that people want it today, does not exist. Data wants to be free. Surveillance is omnipresent. I have zero expectation of privacy anywhere at any time including in my own house with the shades drawn.

The solution is always to hide in plain sight. No single email, apart from "I loved the torture video" really means much. Law enforcement is merely a competing criminal enterprise.

We are being ground between the millstones. Kevin Gates asked God about it God said "grind harder".

I mean you all are overthinking it.

You are still operating in a world where there is some "good" intelligence agency or "good" law enforcement that is going to catch him because they saw him send/receive incriminating e-mails.

He was working for the people you are thinking he would want/need privacy from.

Have you read any of these emails?

Everyone involved is dumb as ****. Their spelling and grammar are at the same grade level as their sex partners.

Overthinking it is like, our thing.

humans evolved language

Are you sure it's not the other way around

I saw a chilling BCH quote on wiki to the effect of "we improve ourselves merely to be better tools to be used"

and now I can't remember personally pining harder for Epicurus.

where's my Voltaire...

paper is safe paper is safe paper is safe

I try to avoid monolothic thinking.

adonai echad, but we are legion.

idk man... I wrote up a long post, but then realized it didn't make any sense. I'm too high to communicate. sorry.

basically your criticims are valid, but iirc han would agree with what you're saying, and then explain how that quote is misleading because his ideas are more in line with Foucault than that quote makes it seem.

I have a vague memory of liking han's ideas on how to cope with modern society. probably something like appreciate nature, and live in the moment.

sometimes I feel like even my thoughts aren't private.

https://www.nitafarahany.com/the-battle-...

We really don't need "smart" watches.

I remember sometimes feeling weirdly safe when performing on stage, or in front of a camera. cus there was consent. it was all planned out, and I was just performing anyway. it was just acting. so I was allowed to say or do anything, and I wouldn't be judged or condemned.

like Mommy Fortuna: "She put a false horn on a real unicorn"

I read a bit more and his thing seems like reducing entire social relationships to personal struggles. He had one about how the master slave dialectic now takes place internally etc so yes it's the thing I said was obvious but that doesn't make it bad philosophy.

If people could appreciate nature and live in the moment they definitely wouldn't need his advice about it.
