I was trying to think about the math on driving with contraband
say you get pulled over like 1 in 10k? and searched 1/2? so risk is 1 in 20k? say it basically destroys my life of my remaining 5k days of life left... so I'm losing about a quarter of a day in EV?
I've been pulled over once in my entire life, speeding downhill on a freeway. I lost track of my speed and was going about 80 in a 65 iirc. it was nothing crazy. on my way to lake Tahoe. and I could have had a car full of drugs and plutonium with a dead body in the trunk, and Osama bin laden in the passenger seat. guy just gave me a ticket quickly and let me go.

My best speeding story is my brother was going about 95mph through Kentucky on our way to Cleveland, TN.
Suddenly there is a police cruiser next to us matching our speed and he is making a roll down your window motion.
My brother rolled down the window and the cop yelled through a bullhorn "SLOW DOWN" then rolled his window up and took off at about 120mph.
We did slow down a bit but we made the whole trip in 4.5 hours, a family record. In the old days they didn't have the Interstate.
i've had maybe 20 interactions with police, and that was far and away the most pleasant one. I think it was my only interaction with highway patrol. and it was likely a speed trap, on that downhill stretch.
but I'm guessing city cops are worse than highway patrol. I don't really know though
also fwiw, pretty sure me and my passengers didn't have any contraband, or anything like that at all.
My last speeding ticket had me going to traffic school in an orange county courtroom. It was 8 hours of mind numbing torture. I swore never again. That was 20 years ago.
