States 51-70 would be a good counterproposal. Gives you 40 senators and proportional representation in the House. One state makes you a colony.

professor gerald horne has an interesting theory that the revolutionary war was largely fought over slavery. the colonies loved slavery, and saw the writing on the wall that england was done with slavery, so they decided to start their own country to keep their slaves. that would fit with why canada wasn't really interested in revolting. if cotton grew in canada, we might still be a pro slavery country, and taken mexico too.

This is true. I probably disagree that the revolutionary war was entirely about slavery, or at least that Canada staying out of it was. There was a sorting of people - loyalists to the throne came up north, and others went south to join the US.

Canada and Greenland's joinder with the US would also, for their own part, restabilize the world that is currently coursing towards WW3 (and I don't mean blockchain).
