I think it has to be 2 words for this clue and then the next 2 from our list.

I'm pretty certain it's disease, head, bar + 1 more word.

If 3 words fit the new clue then it would be a 3 clue with +1

If it was a 1 clue then it would be a much more obvious link to a single word.

Marburg sounds German to me. A bit like Hamburg.

I cannot think of a good link for disease and Germany other than something like this.

If it was up to me we'd go Disease, Germany, Head and Bar.

Yeah, that's it. Game was a disaster.

We were very unlikely to win in 3, and my clues weren't the best, but you guys did 2 things that completely baffled me.

1) Going from centaur as the makeup word after turn one to taking it completely out of consideration in future turns.

2) I know I gave an unlimited clue and you had bar on your list, but I needed you to notice that bar (and bell) were much more likely to be blue words after they gave a clue of "steel".

No, steel was for bar, bell, bridge

Woulda had to be Steel capitalized to be for comic (or Iron more directly than Steel)…guess I coulda done 4 clue there, but I was just trying to make sure we didn’t help them as we had it won if we just didn’t mess up…but in retrospect I shoulda done Iron - 4

Head blocked the easier “metal” clue for those 3

And yeah, IBD knows my thought process the best, so when in doubt, trust IBD

n-1 isn’t a convention; it’s deductive logic that if you get my 3 steel words and then we have just one more to win, then top of list should be guessed as only chance to win this turn…but I don’t let neutrals bother me so circle being neutral wasn’t gonna make me change my clue number…only circle being theirs or assassin would have me avoid a 3 clue…i expected y’all to guess 3 steel words and then guess circle after

My options were:
1 clue: no, wanted y’all to have chance at makeup on steel if got one wrong so didn’t want to save the 3 clue for the next turn
2 clue: didn’t have great 2+2 options; the 3 metal items paired nicely together and nothing great with comic (gong for comic+bell maybe but then bridge+bar is still a metal word)
3 clue: the 3 metal words go nicely together and n-1 makeup at end is neutral and not blocking their potential next clue
4 clue: coulda done Iron or Steel, which woulda been better actually

Good game and playing; at least here guessing circle didn’t hurt us and it actually ended up helping us since 2 of the steel words were on their list

What woulda been bad woulda been if you had shot over bridge because circle blocked you from learning that shot wasn’t ours and we’d have to deal with that on the next turn

Then if I to pair comic+bridge super strongly to not get you to guess shot when I do unlimited; that’s prolly not possible (Spider-Man has famous bridge scene but doesn’t seem like we win here if you had shot over bridge)

Marburgvirus was a great clue for the situation you were in

Needed a trifecta of things, but best you could do:

1. Your team to remove the 2 steel words from list for unlimited
2. Your team to go back to centaur to get third animal word
3. Your team to figure out Germany connection - they did
4. Your team needing one more word after 1-3 to go with travel angle for trip since the virus isn’t in the US so you’d only get it traveling
