why do you like hook over rope and center?

Because you often hang curtains on hooks. Though I guess we often call those rings, So I could do rope over hook if you like.

Helicopter parenting is a thing, but a clue of parent would make that more clear.

Violet is a woman's name. Would also justify mum above parent if helicopter is ours.

Also proper noun from a capitalised clue.

Shoot likely not ours otherwise Mom would be the clue (stop or my mom will shoot).

Really not seeing any backups.

Perhaps just something as tenuous as Eagle and Mosquito as there are Mums in those species.

Mums are a flower so actually I really like Violet here now that I think about it.

Also would bring in wind/sun/bulb as possibilities for the flower route.

I'm fine with whatever backups, but I think Mum --> Chrusamthanum--> Sun is a bit of a stretch. No reason to capitalise and I've heard mums rather than Mum for the flower.

Who knows though.
