Uhhhh

you put lens in the holes of the glasses so I guess hole is ok?

I'm really having to stretch for #3 here

Hooray!

It was not, in fact, for hole

KGB - 6

Agent and Moscow are locks. War is a near-lock.

Confidence goes way down after that.

Maybe some of Track/Log/Paper for record keeping? Pistol for a weapon?

Arm - An arm of the government?
Bar - No?
Battery - They use them for torture in movies, sometimes
Cotton - No
Fan - No
Glove - They wear gloves to hide fingerprints/protection from contact poison
Ground - Go to ground is a spy term
Kiwi - No
Log - They keep logs
Match - No?
Olympus - No, unless it's some obscure movie reference
Paper - Maybe
Pistol - Probably
Spell - Weak - the CIA used to investigate magic & ****
Track - Probably
Turkey - Maybe?
Wave - No
Wind No

War

Pistol
Track
Ground

Log

I'm 95% of the way there with you.

I've literally never heard the term "go to ground" in my life. Is it so common that I should have heard of it? If so, I guess I'm okay with it, though if I were cluing and ground was the assassin, I would have zero hesitation giving a spy clue.

I think log is a lot more direct, but I'll leave the call up to you if you think ground strong enough.

I think Ground is good, but you make a good point that it has higher assassin equity than Log. I think going log & giving him a chance to clue again is fairly low risk

bowler - 5

Pistol and fart are out

pistol is out

fart could be ours, but unlikely

if pistol were assassin then he couldn't do unlimited for 2nd on list in case we thought it was both

bowler is someone who bowls at a bowling alley, someone who pitches in cricket, someone who makes bowls, someone who eats out of bowls, and a type of hat

arm - you use it
fan - the little fans at the ball return to dry off your fingers
glove - many bowlers wear them
ground - you bowl on the ground
match - bowling match, cricket match
paper - used to score bowling on paper; not in the past 30 years tho
turkey - 3 strikes in a row

top 3:
turkey
glove
arm

bowler over bowling is interesting

my top 3 all hit bowling just fine...so what is the reason for bowler?

A bowler is a type of hat, but I don’t see any hat words.

I guess it could be bowler in order to make it clear arm is ours over something like match. The arm is the bowler of the bowler.

So besides Turkey glove arm what do you like?

Fan? Ground? Match?

Oh yeah, it’s a 5-clue. I was thinking three. The cricket connection makes ground more likely for me.

We need a lens word, and I’m not sure it’s one of arm/turkey/glove/ground.

And if we like those four, then fan should be out. I guess match could have a little bit of lens equity.

See anything on the board you like for lens?

it's probably not war that they gifted us because telescope/glass/war would be periscope

well, can't do that with scope/scope prolly so maybe? but lens isn't great for war except in a more abstract sense

you use cotton to clean a lens

and a bowler hat could be cotton

telescope/glass/cotton could be windex or something tho?

or paper for lens paper, the little wet wipes for cleaning glasses

cotton or paper can both work for lens and bowler, tho not amazing for either, but not seeing anything better

I’m on board with cotton.
