I don't think eb gives us a 7 clue here if Washington is right. I'll reserve the right to change my mind on that if I can't find 7 words that fit.

Alien - Seems strong
Amazon - Yes
Box - Same reason I had it in travel
Bug -
Disease - Maybe? Epidemic's can be global
Genius - I can see it, but not in my top 7
Grass - Yes
Millionaire - I can see it, but not in my top 7
Mint
Novel - Somewhat global
Opera - I don't think so - this is pretty European, overall
Pitch
Pupil
Screen - Yes?
Teacher
Tokyo - Yes
Washington

Amazon
Grass
Tokyo
Box
Alien
Disease
Screen

Genius
Millionaire
Washington

What was "travel 4" then if both Germany and Washington are both out?

I think we both agree ot could be almost anything, but I don't think we're quite seeing eye to eye on what's the best options.

I don't like box or grass anywhere near as much as you for instance and I think we should think about travel 4 before we disregard Washington.

For an American, is Washington travel? Travel needs to include non-destination things, and *maybe* it was just time.

For Travel words, non-Washington edition, beyond time:

Amazon
Tokyo
Box
Millionaire

Right

We've got to do something

Amazon
Tokyo

We both agree are top tier.

If these are both blue then we csn go back to debating the others before ultimately being way off.

Of the ones you want to go for I thi know Grass and Disease are strongest.

I still wanna go Washington though and you'll have to be on your own of you want to go box anytime soon.

Both blue

Grass
Disease

Happy to take this a couple at a time where we agree.

Outbreak - 2

The first thought would be Disease/Bug but the dang thing is capitalized.

Was it a novel?

Disease/Novel

Is it a movie title thing?

Disease/Alien

Yeah, it’s a movie about a small US town that gets quarantined because of an outbreak of a long-thought eradicated African virus. I watched it a lot when I was younger, but haven’t seen it in years. You should check it out if you haven’t seen it. Star-studded cast (Hoffman, Freeman, Russo, Spacey, Gooding Jr., Dempsey, Sutherland of the Donald variety).

bug + disease = flu - 2
bug + Alien = Arachnophobia, Antz, (MIB or Edgar/Eggar would’ve been fun too)
disease + Washington = DHHS

I don’t think we can guess bug over disease here, even with the global clue. And we certainly can’t guess both. If bug was ours, I have to believe Nich would’ve clued a movie with bugs rather than one about an illness/virus.

I like the movie title connection, so Alien is a top contender for sure. There is, of course, the screen blocker. That’s giving me a little pause. Also the fact that global hits both disease and alien. But clueing a movie title about a disease seems pretty clear to me that we should be guessing a movie title and disease.

This is the endgame, so we kind of have to disregard the other team’s clues and list and just guess the two best words for our spymaster’s clue. I think those are disease and alien.

I have seen parts of it. Dustin Hoffman and all that.

I just don't know if it was a novel.

Unless we know it was a novel, I agree with

Disease
Alien.

I don’t think it was a novel. And something like Cholera would’ve been the clue there.

Alien then, and good luck to us.

fresh - 4

So youre saying there's a chance...

Sorry Zurvan, looks like your instincts were right about Washington, well done.

Fresh Mint

Fresh means new and so does novel

Would you say that a bug is Fresh? Not sure

Do you have a fresh box of produce? Idk

All these have to be global too

Also I think the 4 words we've got now are the travel words.

Aliens travel (illegal and extra terrestrial)

Can a pitch be fresh?

Like a grass pitch is used in cricket and definitely csn, but I don't know if that's also the case in North American sports.

Box - We didn't make much of a list, so this is weak, but it would have been next on our list last turn
Bug - Bugs make things not fresh, and are global?
Genius
Millionaire
Mint - Yeah
Novel - Fresh off the presses, Fresh & Novel as in new
Opera
Pitch - Maybe, in the sense you say, and then maybe it was soccer Pitch as in global sport
Pupil
Screen - Fresh as in Refresh? Screen as in screen travellers?
Teacher
Washington

That leaves us with

Mint
Novel
Pitch
Screen

Bug

Since I didn't explain it well: I think that means Box is out

I don't think box is out because of what's next on our list. There was no clear list (sorry bout tbat).

I think it might be out because I don't think it fits any of the 3 clues though.

Also I don't like screen at all.

I know it's suggested it too but I'm not in love with Pitch.

I think Mint and Novel are 2 we both agree on.

Mint
Novel

If these are wrong then why string it out.
