SIDES - Inaugural Game Thread
In this thread, we will play a new word game called Sides. It's somewhat similar to codenames, but cooperative and diff
actually there is a variation on c5 that might help them get it. think we should just go for that
unless you guys think the shadowfax has a good chance
Cider
Capitalized for some reason
Cider House Rules is a movie
Apple Cider
Hard Cider
i've heard of apple cider vinegar
and yea the stuff you said
Yeah, apple cider vinegar is a good option also
Most of those wouldn’t be capitalized tho
Gonna have to figure out confirmers to have a shot
c3 could be cod, a common fish for fish and chips, which you use vinegar for
C5/c6 for clean/cleans also fits vinegar
Hot apple cider sounds good right now tho
and could be some shadowfaxy vinegar brand perhaps? i'm starting to like it a little
No cocktail or champagne or cask etc for alcohol
I think Cider House Rules won a few Oscars
But Crash is better known; no cinema no Costner no cast or crew
c5 was the first thing that came to mind
another c5/c6 combined with the first c5 that would get it if we had two clues 😆
C5 comes to mind for me too - i have two in mind - think were the same @insanity
I think the less obvious c5 might be better
We only get one clue right? No repeats
only one clue
the other c5 (c6) i'm thinking of really only works in combination with the obvious c5
Only thing I've got is c6/8. Not even sure I know what the obvious c5 is either. I probably know what the shadowfax one is.
actually there is a variation on c5 that might help them get it. think we should just go for that
unless you guys think the shadowfax has a good chance
so c5 you don't hear very often (prolly not cider)
c5/c6 combined with c5 would get it, but only works in combination with obvious c5
2 different c5s come to mind; less obvious may be better
c3
c6/c8, good confirmers
variation on c5 that might help, should go for that
but then goes cider instead of variation, I think
Or may be the different c5
I haven't figured out a good c5(or c really) to go with cider yet
there are farm/fruit connections, but no cherry, cranberry, citrus, etc. words means probably not for the fruit connection
don't know why capitalized unless a mistake (phones often capitalize automatically so you have to remove the capital letter)
if on purpose, only know the movie and don't know enough about it to know why
it seems like multiple knew this, and apple cider vinegar is well known
c3 cod for fish and chips is a good confirmer
other c5 besides cider for vinegar? clean
and clean/cleans c5/c6 with cider gets it, while clean/cleans on their own without cider doesn't get vinegar as a top choice
maybe d1's c6/c8 are cleans/cleanser
without cherry/citrus/etc for fruit stuff and not seeing anything for the random movie, and given vinegar hits all of the words mentioned (not necessarily right tho), I think vinegar makes sense to guess
bold it if you don't have any other ideas; otherwise, let's discuss if you have any other ideas
of course cocoa is also c5 and also a warm drink and c3 is cup
but without coffee it's not mug or sip or warmth or other cocoa/cider words
no christmas for holiday stuff
no cold either for winter stuff
and no champagne/chardonnay/cask/etc. for alcohol stuff
the cider cleans logic makes a lot of sense to me....like yea there was only one letter to work with it could absolutely be something else but everything you said does fit
so I like it, i haven't been able to think of any other reason for cider
vinegar
Correct!
That was really tough with just one clue.
Not sure why it was capitalised.
Ugh
No citrus c6 mentions had me going away from that
And all the words fit vinegar well; unsure what c3 for orchard would be or other c5 words
Collect c7
Maybe commercial
I dunno; orchard is a hard word with only one letter so odds were low
There are citrus groves, not orchards. So that didn't seem like it would help.
Shadowfax c5 I was thinking of was copse.
mmmmmm i am familiar with angry orchard hard cider, nich even said hard cider but i didn't think to add some stuff to that
definitely a good try, if we thought of it we mighta hit
