I remember a very good old HouseMD episode about a sick gypsy teenager. Smart enough to be a scientist but doesn't want to leave his culture or family behind.

As a self-identifying "hillbilly" from the Missouri Ozarks, let me say that we take a lot of cheap shots too.

Roma is the PC term.

it's more confusing that that, or at least it is in the UK

gypsy, roma and irish traveller are all considered distinct categories of travellers

https://www.ethnicity-facts-figures.serv...

I remember some convos with friends one of them said "I got gypped" then Said "I shouldn't use that term" then someone else said, "wow, that's great of you" or something like that which is already a bizarre convo, but both of them would be extra sus if they were buying something from a gypsy.

Also we don't really have gypsy's in the us like they do in the UK. Maybe some carnies are vaguely close?

That said I would have bought one of those lucky horse shoes

It's what they call themselves in my country

Is there a more appropriate word to use or are they just people with no collective name?

I'm sure it varies by location. It may not be seen as a pejorative in euroland like it is amongst the literati in USA#1.

And I personally wouldn't use the 'that's what they call themselves' standard either -- if I called my African-American neighbors what they call each other I'd be lucky to just get punched in the face.

Drove to work this morning and the travellers living on the side of the road are gone.

The wagons, people and horses are gone.

The grass verge has turned to mulch.

They left so much rubbish (trash) it's a little unbelievable. Struggling to understand how they produced so much of it in such a short space of time.

Had to say goodbye to my bud (see my avatar) today and let him cross the bridge. He went out like a ****ing champ and I love him so much. I’m so sad right now, and I love you guys. Probably a detailed 18-year tr coming one of these days when I’m not a complete goddamn wreck.

In the meantime, check out this handsome ****in beast:

I’m so sorry for your loss… It ****ing HURTS man. We just had to very suddenly let go of our doggo of 15 years this morning. They say she had a brain tumor. First time walking in to the house with her collar in my hand and she’s not here… just. ****.

Came in here and seeing your news just makes me so sad too. RIP to kitty and doggo

oh nooooo! your doggy! I'm sorry crossnerd!

I know how much that dog meant to you :(

I’m so sorry to hear that, I’m sad for you and for everyone she touched. For me it was getting in the car with an empty carrier and catching myself about to say “all right bub, we’re almost home!”

Very thankful we were so lucky to have them in our lives.

We got him back on Friday and put his memorial shelf up next to his sisters:

that's such a nice shelf!

That’s such a beautiful memorial

I'm thinking of treating myself, and spur of the moment blowing a billion dollars on a fancy resort for my bday.. might go tomorrow! 😮

this seems like parody

am I just a hater?

oh, and didn't make it to the resort :(

idk if i'll even treat myself now :(

BUT I did buy some flannel/cashmere sheets a while ago, and omg I recommend them!!!!! I think they were like 350 at Garnett hill idk

and I'm gonna put on my new flannel/cashmere duvet cover soon... I think it was like 150, but I got it like 50% off cuz it was not a popular pattern lol... idgaf how it looks though!

Costco has great sheets. Not cheap but not expensive either. For winter I got thick soft sheets. I would describe them similar to a soft blanket. And flannel for Spring/Fall.

Maybe $50-$80 bucks?

And I still recommend bamboo for the summer.

Satin sheets to lie on, satin pillows to cry on.
Still, I'm not happy. Don't you see?

Another year, another birthday!!! Happy birthday Filthy!

Hope you're enjoying those birthday sheets. 😀

Filthy got a new Taylor Swift double album for his birthday.

thanks Mark!! I'm loving the sheets!!!! yay!!!

but that's the only things that's working today ugh..

I wanted to go to sushi gen for lunch, but it ddidn't work out. so switch to wax paper for a trendy sandwich, but they only had 2 kinds of sandwiches left cuz they were all sold out, and they don't take cash, so **** you wax paper!!!

and then I wanted to get quarter sheets pizza club for dinner and princess cake, but they're already all sold out of cake!!!! ****! **** you!!!!!

My wife and I cannot come to agreement on sheets

separate bedrooms imo

Separate houses!?!?!?

We already have separate comforters. That was a good purchase

Bedding Euro style!

HBD filthy!

What's your choice of pillows? I'm thinking about getting one that's wool-filled but haven't pulled the trigger yet since they're expensive.

Filthy seems like a My Pillow kind of guy
