We never get the good deals

In prep for tomorrow's CA storm system, I was working on my roof. It was 65 degrees in my driveway. On the roof it felt like 95 degrees with sweat dripping off my nose.

Much respect to roofers.

I'll have you know my parents put a new roof on their house when they were already in their late 70s, zero outside help. I even have photos to prove it. My mom went along with it just to be outside in the spring, smelling the flowers and hearing the birds etc. while she was nail-gunning those shingles into place.

My parents are legit bad-asses when it comes to hard work. Raised in the Ozarks during the Depression, a culture of scarcity. Me, I grew up soft in the 70s suburbs. If I'm up there, it'll be play not work. Like this great old James Taylor cover of a Drifters tune.

anyone have any fun, or interesting valentine's day plans? or weekend plans?

i dont have any valentine's day plans... but for this weekend, i *might* go to a fancy resort in ca... im thinking big sur or santa barbara. probably won't happen though because me and my gf are both having poor mental health

oh! i haven't been to vegas in over 20 years. i've never played poker in vegas lol, and i don't want to. but it would be hella fun to get a baller suite there, and invite mark over and get free stuff from the mini bar or whatever

I just finished the TV show Obliterated. It's an action/adventure spoof that takes place in LV. At times, it almost seemed to be a giant Vegas ad. lol They did a lot of balling and fancy suites.

It's okay... Some parts are hilariously bad but still pretty funny.

I would call it drunk A-Team in Vegas.

sometimes when im high, i'll watch some show/film that is hilariously bad, and i'll imagine the director and the director of photography, and like whoever else worked on the film, just vibing while they are creating it, and imagining what a master piece it is, and how they are gonna sweep the oscars

I was humored over the fact that every actor (male and female) has one nude scene spread throughout the 8 episodes. I guess they figured if one person has to do it then to be fair everyone has to.

this reminds me of a story i hate so much... i think it was julia roberts? idk... some big movie star was doing a nude scene, and she asked that everyone on set be nude too. so camera men, assistant directors, grips, everyone!!

i get that she wants it to be communal, and shared experience BUT she is making movie star money, and some of those workers are really low paid.
