Codenames for Suckers

Anyone (preferably who hasn't played in ages/ever and sucks at it like myself) fancy a game of Codenames?

Or regulars if

I barely switch on my computer at home these days. I'll either switch it on tonight or if donk rands first then that would be great.

Pumpkin and Date?

Must be some reason the clue is this and not produce or something like that, but I can't really see another option I like. Cold I guess is possible.

beast - 3

There are four giant creatures.

Bear and shark seem like the two best candidates for "beast". I'd say octopus over phoenix, but "animals" would cover those three better. So maybe it's something else?

Maybe it’s beast in order to get Phoenix (mythical beast). Of those four I was thinking shark might be out, but that was just a gut reaction. Animals also would’ve lumped in cricket, which we can be confident isn’t ours with this clue.

Bear for sure
Phoenix why it’s beast
Octopus because of kraken

Was kind of what I was thinking

I can buy the rationale for phoenix.

In that case it should be one of the remaining two, and it doesn't really matter as long as we pick the right one next time if we're wrong here. So we can go with yours.

Storm - 4

Hmmm i'm not 100% but i'm fairly sure Storm are one of the franchise cricket teams in one of the IPL/Hundred/BBL leagues so might be why it's capitalised.

Eye of the storm
It gets cold during storms
You wear a cloak during a storm
Storms make the currents of the water go crazy

Eye
Cold
Cloak
Cricket
pass

Current

Eye for sure

Model: meteorologists model the path of the storm; computer models are used for all forecasting; could be missed tho

Current - for hurricanes and also for storms being news

Cold - cold front, blizzards, cold rain, etc

Pound - storms pounding the shore, houses, etc

Storm capitalized could be for:

Seattle Storm - a top WNBA team

Storm - one of the major X-Men (played by Halle Berry); can control the weather

Donk has definitely posted in the cricket thread on here so he'd know if Storm is a cricket team and he'd probably expect me to know (i'm like 95% sure it is)

Do you not like cloak? Can replace it with Current if you'd prefer but think we have to say Cricket

bump

eye is a lock
cricket is fine given Storm is a common team name and that's the only sport on the board and you think there is one named Storm

I don't see any other reason for capitalization than the cricket team so I think storm related words are our next option:

current

if cloak is used more in the UK than in the US, then I'm fine with cloak; we would say you wear a coat/jacket or use an umbrella, but cloaks are pretty rare

I like model and cold as backups also

eye
cricket
current

then cold/model/cloak in whatever order, with 1 guessed and 2 at top of list for next turn

i guess I'm fine with your order but cricket higher up since it's capitalized:

eye
cricket
cold
cloak
pass

current
model
