Codenames for Suckers

Anyone (preferably who hasn't played in ages/ever and sucks at it like myself) fancy a game of Codenames?

Or regulars if

Block

Paddle has to have a handle by definition; pong is just a line so not paddle

And then Press?

Paddle seems like the obv

Pong is a video game, so I think chip is a good candidate here.

And yes, press is ours.

Tho maybe paddle + chip = Atari

Of course there’s also paddle + block = wood

But then chip is in the way!

Maybe it’s paddle/block.

We have no idea if we just flat lucked into a fiver for Persons, so I couldn’t tell you if any of these words are double-clued.

I was thinking block because that's the aim of the game pong. You stop the ball from going past your paddle by blocking it.

I like paddle, block, press.

If we didn't luck into press it might have been Pong 3 because you press the controller to play it.

Paddle
Press
Block

Not sure here

Going video game gave it huge chip equity

Paddle+block is arkanoid, but that’s less known

Mammoth is backup?

I've never heard of a skin flute i don't think

don't peanuts also have skins? like that little brown layer, idk if they're called skins

It’s slang for male anatomy

I've never heard of that phrase, is it actually popular?

Common enough slang that I like to guess it here

Hide and scratch are locks I think

I like flute over mammoth bc you’d call theirs hides not skin and they are so wooly so you don’t see it

What other options are there

Peanuts are shelled; never heard them called skins; only potatoes, etc

im not talking about the shells im talking about the brown papery layer that surrounds the inner nut.

I agree on hide and scratch. I'm struggling to imagine anyone describing male genetalia as a skin flute but if you think it's common enough i guess we could go for it.

hide
Scratch

Flute
Bottles

Mammoth
Peanut

Let’s do the 2 obvious first in case one is wrong

Maybe it’s not as well known as I thought; and skin is for hide and scratch so it’s not like he necessarily did skin specifically for the flute term

Hide, scratch, mammoth: scalp (the verb) or skin; maybe some cut or impale or other word

Hide, scratch, peanut: allergy? Doesn’t really hit hide tho; coat? Doesn’t hit scratch tho; no good options but skin ain’t bad

Hide, scratch, flute: skin only option

For all 3 skin seems like a good option; scalp could work for mammoth but maybe not thought of

Mammoths have skin; flute and nut could have been overlooked

Guess I’m good with mammoth next as the most straightforward skin word
