My ancient neighbor passed away on Friday. She made it to 98 years and 1 month. She basically stopped eating a couple weeks ago in hospice and that is that.

my cat btw understands the glove perfectly and will attack the **** out of it so I know at least that a 25-pound cat cannot bite through the glove.
the blue jay biting me is not a concern, birds don't really bite things in defense

about a year ago some bird flew into my house. happened a few times when I was living in the Santa Monica mountains. but this time my gf was napping, and the dog instantly started trying to get it(just to play with it. golden retriever lol) and it was crazy how gf went from unconcious to super hero, leaping into action to save the bird. we didn't have gloves +3.. so she used a throw blanket, and all was well.
she saw my trying to guide it out with a broom and scoffed at my ineffectiveness as a man and a being on this earth, and she took over and handled it like a champ.
bringing her back down to earth though in our equal incompetence... I commanded her to not fix the leaking sink. she disregarded my authority and flooded the kitchen lol
How hard is it to make the transition to Apple if I've only ever had PCs before? My son suggested apple.
certain things will take some time to adjust, like the hotkeys for clipping a screenshot etc but you should be able to switch over easily within a few days with minor hiccups
main loss is a lot of software is pc only and something you bought on pc won't transfer over to new mac

That does not look like a blue jay to me; the beak doesn't quite look right. No doubt it's a function of the lighting and the angle.

No doubt. I'm no birder but I can identify a Blue Jay pretty good. They are blue.

I'm guessing what throws Eric off is they usually don't hold their stupid mouth open like that unless they are stressed out. Blue Jays are famously unflappable (duc wat i did ther) so he may be getting his first view of a stressed out Blue Jay.
We sold the last of the sheep this week, gonna take a year or two off after peaking at 30 or something nuts.

When does a band cease to exist? There are several acts out there playing under the name of a band without any of the original members of that band.
I'll lay out a scenario. Let me know when you think the band is no more. In this scenario, assume that the act puts out a successful record every year.
Band forms and tries out members until they get their first recording contract and release their first album.
After 1 year the lead singer leaves (OD or solo career) and is replaced.
2 years after that, the drummer leaves for family reasons, let's say, and is replaced.
4 years later the bassist dies and is replaced.
After 8 more years the guitarist (the last performer from the first album) retires and is replaced.
The act continues unchanged for 20 more years, then dissolves as all the current members retire.
We have a situation where no original members are left, but each replacement has been in the group longer than the person they replaced.
How about if the group only lasted for 2, 5, or 10 more years?
Extra credit: if inducted into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which performers should be inducted?

Interesting angle, but does it affect the question? Lots of musical groups perform songs written by other people. Holland-Dozier-Holland, Goffin and King, Bacharach and Sager, Boyce and Hart all wrote hit songs for other acts.

The examples I can think of are in the Prog Rock Easy Listening category: Pink Floyd and Yes.
I believe there were two Yes touring at one point but I don't gaf about Yes so idk anything about it.
Roger Waters had a better claim imo to Floyd, as core as he is to the Floyd Sound, Gilmour only came around after Syd lost his marbles.
But Gilmour seems like a better bandleader. Idk what happened legally. Who cares.
What other examples seem relevant?
I had meant to mention Genesis as another Prog Rock EZ Listening band that meandered into Pop after a lineup change and allowed Phil Collins to break Containment. This ruined an entire decade.
Chicago wasn't worthy of the name during the Peter Cetera Hard to Say I'm Sorry period. Terry Kath shredding in his grave.
Only one member was different but Van Hagar was a complete abomination.

Very hard for me to accept any version of Journey without Steve Perry.
I did come to accept AC/DC after Bon Scott died and Brian Johnson took over though. Most replacements aren't nearly as good as Johnson was.
Btw Phil Collins saved my dentist office visits thru the 90s and 00s, working in tandem with his bandmate nitrous oxide.
