was cricket ever an olympic sport? i know it hasn't been in my lifetime

i like fair since it works in multiple ways. fair competition. and they're like a big fair

Lots of olympics AREN'T held in capital cities. Rio, Sochi, Vancouver, LA, Turin, Salt Lake, Sydney, Atlanta, Lillehammer, Barcelona, Albertville, Calgary... I'd never have made that association.

You just named several capital cities.

It's basically a two step. Olympics are hosted in cities, some of which are capitals.

I was just pointing to the fact that you were listing places that aren't capitals, even though they are.

But by your logic, Germany is also a 2-step connection. How many times have the Olympics been held there?

You could try cluing Basketball to get Spurs because the Spurs participate in playing basketball. This is like cluing Olympics to get Germany

You could try cluing Basketball to get Skyscraper because some skyscrapers also have basketball courts. This is like cluing Olympics to get Capital.

Gettable? Sure, but I don't see getting tilted over it being rejected by the guesser.

Also, I'm not sure talking about US state capitals when talking about the Olympics, an international event, is a natural thought, either.

That is not a good analogy at all. If we count just the Summer Olympics (the only ones that matter), then the vast majority of them have been held in capital cities. Yeah, I'm including state capitals because it would be weird not to (not sure what relevance the Olympics being an international event has on anything). It is certainly nothing like cluing basketball to hit skyscraper lol.
