maybe a criminal or a pogger or explorer

It's up to Pog, but it seems reasonable to ask to clarify if a fiction author or an artist (painter, sculptor) would be considered to be in entertainment without it costing us an official question.

I would consider any type of author to be in entertainment as books are a form of entertainment but I wouldn't consider an artist to be

Is it Andy Warhol?

Is it Andy Warhol?

Let's name all of the dead American artists we can think of until we run out of guesses.

No it's not Andy Warhol surprisingly :p

I get that it's a loose association but we might as well work with this and narrow it down.

Is he associated more with politics than with entertainment?

Would it help to know if he has a youtube channel or a podcast? We know he isn't an actor or musician.

Youtubers/podcasters definitely fall under entertainment imo. With the way these last posts went, seems like it's probably someone in the visual arts.

But this is why you have to be really careful with the questions you ask in this game, so it can't be left open to interpretation. Same with the "athletics" question...just say sports, otherwise they may not know how to answer it.

Could it be a movie director? Surely that would have been an easy yes on the entertainment question.

I'll add that being the quizmaster can be really difficult. You want to answer as accurately as possible but you also know that a badly worded question can be incredibly misleading.

If anybody answered no to a movie director being part of the entertainment industry, they should never be allowed to run one of these again.

I can still remember a game where someone started off with "I'm thinking of an athlete" and it was a ****ing chess player.

Yeah ok.

Is it Kasparov?

OFFICIAL QUESTION

by SuperUberBob k

It is indeed Kasparov.

Thought for sure nobody was gonna get it after the first volley of questions whiffed miserably. Nicely done guys.

As for questioning whether or not chess is a sport, it is recognized as a sport by the International Olympic Committee. Since people who play sports are called athletes, I consider it valid.

LOL, holy ****!

The funny thing is we would've actually got that pretty easily I think if it just started as a person rather than an athlete. I still think that even people who consider chess as a sport wouldn't actually call chess players athletes though.

That was a fun trip down memory lane

Not a guess, but it sounds a bit Schwarzeneggarish. Born in Austria, but is an American Citizen, I believe.

You think someone who was one of the biggest actors on the planet and then governor of California would’ve initially been a no for #7?
