The NHL Thread
For the 5 of us who post NHL stuff, here you go. Officially the season starts Tuesday October 11, although there were tw
Old story time from Brendan Shanahan about smack talking for those who watched during this time:
“Sean Avery stood up as Joe Sakic was skating by our bench,” Shanahan wrote. “Sean was a young, enthusiastic hockey player who was well liked by us old guys, and as you might know, was known for trash talking. But when he stood up and yelled, ‘Hey Sakic!’ Brett Hull grabbed him by the back of his sweater and yanked him down on the bench. Then he said, and I’ll never forget this, ‘You are not allowed to speak to Mr. Sakic.’ And then Sean looked down the bench at the rest of the boys and we all just sort of nodded.”
Report coming out adding to what I have been saying and that time of year again that massive changes to the Toronto Maple Leafs may happen if they do not go deep this year, like at very least 2 rounds as new boss for ownership team and ownership wants results. Only 1 year left on Shanahan's contract so expect him gone and maybe the head coach as well which most likely Florida this year in 1st round and another tough lineup for playoffs. Still, shocked changes have not been made the last few years to be honest.
vgk clinch a playoff spot!
mark stone on pace to come back for the playoffs (again). hertl has been a great face-off guy and should help up front. but at the back they are still so shaky. doubt they can win the SC again this year unless they get lucky tbh.
Stars and Knights still most likely in the first round?
$20 for funsies on the series if that comes to fruition?
I don't have any online accounts that I can pay from so I have to politely decline.
I'm pretty much a brick & mortar guy when it comes to betting. I have trust issues....
Silfverberg retired with a year left on his contract at 5.5 million next year at 33 years old
surprising move, clearly not determined my lack of a market since he had another year left
this is huge for the ducks next year having 5.5 million in unexpected cap space suddenly - they can definitely get an impact player for that
i think if they could get some better defensemen they could actually be a pretty good team next year if the youth continues to develop

how can you not have cashapp/venmo/paypal/zelle?
I'm not even talking about the bet, i don't care if it happens, I'm just saying your life will be a lot easier if you get one of those
the ducks have $9m in cap space right now ... the problem is that there's never anyone good to sign in free agency because hockey players are super lol
Had 3 large tickets each miss by one leg yesterday, super heartbreaking.
Arizona Coyotes players have been informed the NHL club is expected to relocate to Salt Lake City, according to a person with knowledge of the meeting.
General manager Bill Armstrong flew to Edmonton, Alberta, to tell players about the team’s potential move to Utah before its game against the Oilers, the person told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Friday because the decision has not been announced.
Players and officials could visit Salt Lake City next week, possibly as soon as after the season finale Wednesday, which could be the final game at 5,000-seat Mullett Arena in Tempe.
well that escalated quickly
Dayum!
Dammit Seattle.
Had Stars on the puck line. I don't see the problem.
Finally a winning sports bet today.

Well that did not last long.
