2022-2023 Saw Manchester City’s Death Star become fully operational winning the Premier League with 89 points by e
I'll take a luck box win at the tail end of the season.
Also happy st totteringhams day
City have less business getting something from this game than arsenal did vs spurs by a country mile
Up to the Sours to beat City and keep alive their hopes of fourth place. Go on, you know you want to win the PL for us.
So tilted I swapped Gvardiol for Gabriel in fpl and then of course haaland comes on to block his sub.
You have to do something with the ball when you have possession, and take chances when you get them.
Also, defending is quite important.
Yep, and this is why I ****ing hate the ANGE OUT crowd or anyone that is moaning about "performances" when what they really mean is results.
It's difficult emotionally to separate the two, but in a lot of games recently we've run below expectation AND / OR also not played well, but today wasn't one of those.
We need like 3-4 starters (including, critically, our very own Declan Rice type) and several more squad players to really be competitive. But there's definite progress in the right direction.

I would imagine there's going to be some nice edges backing spurs vs chelsea/newcastle/united for season points spreads. Be curious where the markets will be going into next season. I think spurs and villa have the best floor, and good upside amongst all the teams that will be competing for t5. Saudi's seem to have lost interest in newcastle as their new play thing, and chelsea/united need to show me something before I believe they are anything but dysfunctional messes. Both spurs and villa have coaches who have buy in from their team for their systems and a clear style of play they want to execute, but both have some squad holes that they need to fix to progress.

No, the difference was Wood is a lower league level striker who can’t take his chances and Haaland is lethal.
I'm fully on the "play the reserves vs City" train now. Meaningless game for us anyway as no way we are getting fourth.
Spurs mentality summed up perfectly.
Isn't that because they're right at the edge of FFP? They've been in for two and a half years and spent nearly £400m on players and only recouped about £40m back.
As well and more importantly PSR, it’s a complete joke that they and Villa are in a situation where they maybe forced to sell their best players in order to stay within PSR. It just means they’re going to have to take years and years in order to be able to spend - unless they manage to sell more players to SA.
They will have the issue of everyone will want fair market value for both their sponsorships and player sales.
I think, the only way they’ll be able to do it quickly and even then it’s difficult would be to do a lottery where everyone wins a ticket, i.e they sell raffle tickets for tickets and everyone who buys one gets a winner so they can over inflate their tickets sales revenue. As well as selling boxes for ridiculous us amounts similar to what R.A done at Chelsea with his £1m season ticket. Guess that’ll be scrutinised as well if Newcastle tried something like that. Really difficult for them to rapidly grow under the current climate.
I won't accept this Chris Wood slander, he's been great this season. Only player with higher non-pen goals per 90 this season is Jota (not including guys who have one or two goals in a handful of minutes) and he's doing it for a **** team

Yeah I’d agree with that. Spurs first half performance was good but the lack of a cutting edge and poor defending always caps results. Even sakas goal should have been better defended.
Villa have some difficult fixtures left, pressure they're not used to dealing with, and can still slip up.
I’m going to break with convention and agree with the spurs fan. Given the choice of sours winning the league and arse qualifying for the CL, or both missing out, I’m taking a year in the EL. But maybe if I didnt live in a slightly spursy area and wouldn’t have to see those facial expressions I might feel differently, I don’t know.
It's a meaningless game for us. If it was a situation where for winning it we win the FA Cup or something and Arsenal almost certainly win the league then sure obvs I want us to win.
But if it's a choice between finishing 5th with 69 pts and 5th with 66 why the **** would I care?

Dress up as Odegaard and take a couple of snaps of those expressions for the thread

O/U on what they bring in in sales?
There are some kind of weird any time scorer prices in our game vs Forest on Saturday. Our only good striker is 7/2 (Archer definitely does not qualify as a good striker) but we have two youth team/development strikers in Marsh and One who are 3/1. Billy Blacker, who has had the occasional flash in the u21's but to the best of my knowledge has no senior starts at any level is 4/1, same price as Hamer is. I don't know if this is 365 on crack, or if knowledge is in that we are (correctly) dumping a bunch of senior players and starting severe youth and the play would be to back the **** out of Forest
Then (October 2021):
In a statement, the Premier League said that they had "now received legally binding assurances that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will not control Newcastle United Football Club".
Now:
The MBS jersey and the green and white magpie at the end are lovely touches. lol Premier League forever and always for this travesty
Go ahead and find Man City quilty already or do what you do best. Dock Everton 4 more points.
