The ATP/WTA Tennis thread
The cluster**** to the AO seems to have been resolved, and we're ready to fire up the hype for 2021.
I'm running a season
Huge upset about to happen in the French Open, as Cerundolo is about to beat Sinner. The culprit of course is cramping for Sinner.
Joker gonna win another major now. Cementing goat status
Haven't tuned into French yet but just turned it on. French fans going nuts for this 17 year old Kouame kid in the super tiebreaker
this goatkovic/fonseca match is fire
Another one bites 'the heat'.

Novak Djokovic's latest quest for a record 25th Grand Slam ended with a defeat to Joao Fonseca in the third round of the French Open on Friday.
The 39-year-old Serb -- a three-time champion at Roland Garros -- lost to the 19-year-old Brazilian 4-6, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5, 7-5 as temperatures again reached 33 degrees C (91 F).[/b]
Djokovic looked exhausted in the fifth set but soldiered on and his exit leaves the men's draw even more open following Jannik Sinner's second-round exit on Thursday.⁸
Ruud/Paul match is pretty good too.
Wtf is TNT/HBO doing? In the middle of the final set tiebreak between Parry and Anisimova, they go splitscreen to show Kouame in the first set and ask commentator what's going on. The commentator says she's trying to watch the tiebreak. What idiocy is this?
Epic finals
Serena is still a fighter, she's as fit as you could possibly hope for at age 44, and she may win this match, but it's hard to see this version of her ever beating multiple quality opponents in a row.
The biggest issue seemed to be her movement. She just couldn't stay in points when Joint got her moving side-to-side.
I could imagine her getting back to being able to play at a top 20ish level for a single match with some more match practice/fitness but agree that I can't see her having deep runs in big tournaments again.
