He was inexplicably terrible for several consecutive starts in the playoffs, after he had put together his best regular season yet.
My Atlanta friends who are casual Braves fans were like, “Why are we starting this bum in the World Series?” And I’d tell them, no, he’s actually really good, just trust me. And then the Braves shipped, and he was great.
Which is my long way of saying that he’s really bad sometimes, for longer than I’d like. But his overall body of work, and my faith in him, is really strong. Even if he looked pretty bad today.
