European football summer transfer window 2024/2025
And it looks like our teams have done a deal on AWB. I hope AWB does well for you and he was a real professional in his time at United. It’s a good price for you and he is extremely good at the defensive side of the game, but he does lack in the attacking phase. Overall, I think it’s a good move for both sides.
I’m extremely happy with the De Ligt signing. There is the issue of Dier being ahead of him at Munich, but he’s 24 and Ten Hag knows him well. He may not have turned into the beast that p
As hilarious as AWB is with the ball going forward (his brain and feet have next to zero connection), I’m having a hard time thinking of a more lock down defender…he always just completely erases Martinelli. Seems like it’s not fashionable to just have a really good defending FB anymore. West Ham are putting together a pretty nice back line imo.
Very much not happy about de Ligt. It just feels like a transformative signing and that he’s going to boss that defense.

Definitely agree irt AWB. Which is also why I wish him well and just hope that United aren’t badly needing points in May when they play against West Ham and AWB makes some massive tackle or defensive stop to prevent a goal scoring opportunity. But, such are the risks you have to take on a transfer.
De Ligt and Martinez could be a real monster pairing. Add in a developing Yoro when he comes back from injury, I’m really liking what United have done on the back line so far (though a Left Back is sorely needed).
He seems to be the most highly rated of the youngsters (meaning academy, I'm not including Bergvall, Gray or Vuskovic in that), though people do like some others (Lankshear, Donnington, Donley and Devine (if you call him academy). He's the only one being spoken about as if ~first team ready.
That said I don't think we're claiming he's got Foden or Saka potential juuuuuuuuust yet lol.

Yeah, we seemingly have a very decent crop of youngsters. However, I haven't heard that kind of hyperbole around Moore either - probably <5% chance he hits Foden's level.

If we have AWB and Emerson at full back we are going to be hilariously lopsided. I agree, AWB is a top quality defensive full back. I guess the question is, can we get the best out of him.

I think he will do quite well for you guys. Especially given that your GA last year was utterly dreadful. If he’s able to prevent 3-5 goals going in by himself, then he’ll have been worth the transfer right there. You guys need to prevent goals as scoring doesn’t seem to be that big of an issue
Samu Omorodion apparently/allegedly may have failed his medical with Chelsea. (or some say contracts terms have changed). but the important thing is that then kills the Gallagher deal AND the Alvarez deal. both teams are scrambling now.
talks of Joao Felix to Chelsea being discussed. lol.
Omorodion could be coming to us. It’s fine, we never have issues with injuries due to our shitty training facilities or anything.

chelsea should buy oblak, they clearly dont have enough gks yet.
looks like they are now trying to get osimhen and send lakaka to napoli.
Without allowing me to do any research, if you asked me to name Chelseas likely starting 11, I'd be lucky to get 3.
Zouma is going to Dubai on a free, which tells you plenty about the state of the cat-terroriser's knees. I hope it's a lax medical. He was an excellent player for us, good luck to him.
So apparently the knees were bad enough to scare off even the Arabs?
Asking purely due to fantasy reasons, but I’m assuming that Todibo and Mavropanos will be the starters at CB?
Chelsea in the transfer market just reminds me of the scene in demolishion man when Stallone finds out they use shells to wipe their ass. He just starts cursing repeatedly to get the violation printouts to use instead.
Todibo looks like a really good deal. He was apparently our #1 priority at CB a couple of years ago but the deal was difficult for whatever reason, so we pivoted to Van Der Ven - much to the annoyance of Spurs Twatter, but obviously it worked out pretty well.
Todibo is either going to fail hard or want a transfer within six months.
Talked about it on the PL thread but in short, yes.
Ivan Toney left out the squad due to transfer interest
Fabio Viera to Porto loan done. Ramsdale probably the next outgoing
Chiesa in by the looks of it. 10m + addons. Salah, Jota, Nunez, Diaz, Gakpo, Chiesa is some set of options.
Rumbles of Nunez wanting out and arsenal being interested. Probably load of bollocks but I'd absolutely take Nunez in a heartbeat
Chiesa seems random enough. He better not explode like Salah did when he came from Roma
We wont create as many chances as Pool does as we are much more controlled in the buildup that lets us be more solid in the back. At first glance Nunez seems like a sub-par option.
However I thought the same about Havertz too
