So he should just throw Fields in and hope he's way better than he has been?

As I already said if you can guarantee that their opponents will score 10 then yeah, throw him in

You missed some other points, but if you acknowledge that with an effective game next week and also involving their #1 playmaker for 100+ yards, then yes Fields is obv the choice.

was that Boss Hogg????

Well you edited it while I responded. We can talk about how Fields' best wins this year came when the opponents scored 10 and 6 respectively, which just echoes my previous points.

An effective game would be neutralising the Bengals offense, not Fields having to do anything. Or scoring a boatload, which Wilson did to beat them a few weeks ago. It's all moot regardless, Fields won't play because Tomlin and even Fields knows and have acknowledged he's not good enough.

I feel like I’m watching Drumline.

Debatable, but irrelevant.

An effective game would be outscoring your opponent and getting your #1 playmaker involved.

Or scoring a boatload, which Wilson did to beat them a few weeks ago.

Sustained drives to keep the ball from Burrow would go a long way to yielding an effective game.

t's all moot regardless, Fields won't play because Tomlin...

That says enough.

The bar is low, but that might have been one of the better halftime performances. The music was alright, but the choreography was pretty damn good.

Fascinating retort.

Agreed, Pickens averages 17 yards more a game with Wilson under centre so it's great to see him getting more involved.

Agreed, Wilson winning the time of possession last time did help!

That says enough.

You cut off the part where Fields says he wasn't good enough

I mean as I'm not a Steelers fan I'd love to see Fields in the playoffs. I just know inevitably he'll put up 12 or so points, Fields truthers will blame it on coaching as always, he'll get a move to the Raiders or something who think 'I can fix him', he'll suck again but people will say 'well it's the Raiders, of course he couldn't succeed there' and we'll be back to where we are today

Mixon got nailed lol

So if Fields gets 100+ out of Pickens next week and plays effectively, then you agree Fields should start rd 1?

Agreed, Wilson winning the time of possession last time did help!

Time of possession is positively correlated to wins, this is true.

You cut off the part where Fields says he wasn't good enough

I did, you hit the primary point which I quoted. The remaining text did not add anything to the primary point.

by PokerHero77 m

I mean yeah that'd be hilarious.

But as I said Tomlin isn't that stupid

If it were to happen:

With Wilson:
PIT
BAL -9

With Fields:
PIT
BAL -8

I was just gonna bring it up, they're currently +1 vs CIN next week. If Fields is announced as starter and the line doesn't move towards CIN I'll acknowledge there's a debate to be had

OMG this is painful

They do. It’s bad.

Bad call.

yep

Slowik created a lot of buzz for himself with Stroud’s success as a rookie but his stock has gone down because of his insistence on early down runs that go nowhere and repeatedly putting Stroud in difficult third-down situations in which the Texans’ protection plan is too basic.

Slowik’s ill-fated strategy

If it did move toward PIT there would be no debate.

I'm guessing CIN would be around -6 with Fields. Public perception would be Tomlin is giving Wilson and other players rest and would likely sit the starters 2nd half. If Tomlin sits multiple starters for the entire game in addition to Wilson, then line will be around -10. Either way the CIN line is irrelevant because it only projects the margin of victory, not how Fields actually performs along with Pickens.
