Feels like they flip flop bama and ND back again

That being said - if you want the best teams right now, Bama is out. They look bad the last 3 weeks. If you want to reward the best season, ND is out. They lost the head to head against Miami

next mendoza up

Well, we'll never know.

whelp

Some parallels for that: Colt McCoy got knocked out in 1st Q of Alabama/Texas national championship game; Major Harris got knocked out in 1st Q of Notre Dame/West Va. national championship game. Others?

windiana!

Ohio State still has given up a first half TD to Penn State ONLY all year even with that turnover deep in their own territory.

Both Heisman candidates, like Mendoza.

Gawd Ohio State is laying for those quick sideline throws.

IU defense has some real juice though.

Such an absolutely ridiculous statistic

I wonder if duke winning would help miami get in, so as not to keep the acc out completely

it shouldn't make a difference, but yeah it might

Why in the world would you field that punt deep in your own end with a few seconds left when you are just going to run the clock out? The only possibility for a meaningful result is turnover. It's like giving the opponent a free roll for a turnover.

How is the committee saying "We don't count conference championship games against you" when a couple years ago Georgia was 12-0 and unanimous #1, lost the SEC championship and missed the playoff and the right to go for a threepeat?

Not that it's a huge plot line in this game, but these two guys are top Heisman contenders? Really?

yeah Diego pavia should win it but he won't

Ya. This garbage about Bama still getting in and some of the arguments here suck. Bama hasn't been great this year. They've been constantly outgained and blown out a couple times now.

Ohio state is who we thought they were. A 2nd rate Big Ten team.

nice that's nice

Because in a 4 team playoff OSU jumped TCU and Baylor by playing a conference championship game when they did not play one so not playing one hurt the team that would have won. Now not playing one protects you from being kicked out if you lose and no championship game but naming the top ranked team in conference as conference champion both protects your loser from missing out and would have guaranteed the ACC a spot. Costs you the championship game money but an extra team in the CFP is worth more. However from the pov of ESPN they want championship games so will push to make playing them a better option and no penalty for losing is required for that.

Holy moly! Even LSU doesn't get home-cooking like that!

Great job going to commercial during the most important moment of the game.
