2025 NFL Season Thread: Can Uncle Rico save the Broncos or will they be Nixed?
Greetings friends.
Those of you who know me know me as a Niners fan full of fantastical levels of vitriol and rage. I hav
just checked and the top 3 Super Bowl favourites (on my book at least) are all NFC teams.
Rams then Seahawks then Packers.
Bills the top AFC team paying $10
I know, right.
Having Miami ranked right below the next 3 teams they're going to beat.
Absurdity of the highest level.
According to the Elo chart Dolphins ML lines for their next 4 games:
MI +167
PT
CN
MI +108
TB
MI +111
MI +210
NE
Bengals/Dolphins are basically pick, Bucs will be -1, and NE will be around -5/6.
I can see Dolphins -1 over Bengals, other than that it looks fine for now. Of course lines can change a lot in a week or 2.
mod edit: stupid iGram video bastardizing step brothers with chiefs missing the playoffs
should they cart Rivers off after the inevitable or just have his celebration of life right there on the field?
They'll never be able to get the entire family there on such short notice.

My friends in a group chat sent that. AI barf
I've been waiting rivers entire career to get killed , Christmas came early.
Ok not really, but I hope his dumbass gets thoroughly embarrassed.
Rivers is 44 years old. I get that the Colts are in a very ****ed spot with all their QBs dead and it's a short season remaining but...the man is 44
As a Seahawks D owner in both my ff playoffs, I’m licking my lips at the prospect
Last game probably falls more on Sirianni and the OC for allowing Hurts to throw the ball 40 times when it was obvious that he was struggling.
Of Matthew Stafford's league-leading 32 touchdown passes, 22 have covered 10 yards or less, 14 have covered 5 yards or less and six have been just 1-yard touchdown passes. Wide receiver Davante Adams leads the league with 14 touchdown catches. Of those, four are 1-yard catches, two are 2-yard catches, one is a 3-yard catch and two are 4-yard catches. So that's nine of Adams' 14 touchdowns that have covered 4 yards or less.

The job of defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile can't be overlooked. Since last season, the Jaguars have gone from 31st to 11th in total defense, 28th to 11th in scoring defense and 32nd to third in turnovers despite missing multiple players due to injury for stretches. He's a first-year coordinator, but I sense he has worked his way into the conversation come coaching cycle time.

Denver's 24-17 victory over the Raiders made them the 57th team in NFL history to win at least 10 in a row during a regular season. Their average point differential in those games (6.9) ranks last by a wide margin
- - - - -
The Broncos' defense has carried the load, but the numbers suggest it is not quite elite. Denver ranks sixth in defensive EPA per play at 0.07, half of Houston's league-leading figure. Of 160 defenses since 2021, the Broncos' ranks 30th (20 spots behind their 2024 unit), while the Texans' ranks second.

The Jaguars own five victories over teams that currently have winning records, one fewer than the league-leading Los Angeles Rams (Denver, by comparison, has two). The Jaguars had zero last season. Jacksonville has done it by improving on defense by an NFL-best 10.7 EPA per game from last season.

HOU rank fourth among 224 defenses since 2019 in third-down EPA per play when rushing four or fewer, per TruMedia. Only the 2020 Ravens, 2019 Patriots and 2020 Dolphins rank ahead of them over that seven-season stretch.

SEA defensive back Nick Emmanwori blocked a kick, collected a sack and intercepted a pass. He's the first player since former Cardinals Pro Bowl safety Adrian Wilson (2010) to accomplish all three in the same game. Hall of Famer Julius Peppers is the only other player to check all three boxes in one game since 2000, per TruMedia.

Patrick Mahomes had maybe the worst game of his career Sunday night. By EPA (expected points added) per dropback (minus-0.54), completion percentage (42.4%) and passer rating (19.8), it was the least productive game he has ever played in a Chiefs uniform.

The Chiefs have been first or second in pass rate over expectation every single season since 2018 (they are second to the Cardinals this season).
- - - - -
The 2025 Chiefs have the lowest explosive rush rate on RB carries among all seasons since 2000 (2.6%). The 2024 Chiefs were third lowest (2.8%). Hunt and Isiah Pacheco (post-injury) break tackles for sure, but they don't run away from anyone.

Since entering the league, Rashee Rice has 2.7 yards per route run (seventh among frequently targeted receivers) as a high-volume underneath player; his 8.1 yards after catch per reception leads all receivers
- - - - -
Jakobi Meyers has brought unbelievable consistency and smoothness. Since he arrived in Week 10, 67.7% of his targets have turned into successful plays for the offense -- plays that generated positive expected points -- leading all wide receivers. And 51.6% of his targets have gone for first downs or touchdowns, sixth in the NFL.

JAC has the Jets this Sunday and are currently 12.5-point favorites, the most the Jaguars have been favored in a game in 18 years.
- - - - -
LAR's running game currently ranks first since 2018 in adjusted line yards, which is FTN Fantasy's metric for how much of a running game's production belongs to the offensive line

the Dolphins have rushed for 160-plus yards in four consecutive games for the first time since 1977.
