NCAA Hoops 2025-26 Season Thread: MARCH SADNESS FOR DUKE
Looks like UK is getting out of the gate with a win against vaunted Nicholls State. This on the heels of a pre-season lo
Is Hubert Davis fired after this year? Seems they should move on sooner than later
How is he even still there
Sun ran one tourney
It's time to talk about Indiana basketball to the MAC.
Damn. Michigan didn't beat Duke by 20 or even win at all. Who possibly could have seen that coming?

It was obvious early in the game the refs were betting on Duke. I thought the inherent ref bias for Duke was a thing of the past. I was wrong. Michigan is still the clear best team in the game this year.
Michigan is still the best team but Duke is really ****ing good. They should just cancel the tourney this year and have them play a best of 7.
Wow that Hurley E60 special they just started advertising looks pretty good. Debuts March 15th, I think? At first I was rolling my eyes about more drama from Hurley, then he starts talking about being suicidal in his college days and I'm ready to cancel my cable subscription ... then it starts to sound very real. The drama king poseur on the sidelines as a coach doesn't seem to be in evidence in these interviews. We'll see.
I'll take UK to avenge losses to Vandy and Gators upcoming.
Michigan will screw up. Duke won't.
Shoutout Travis Steele and the Miami RedHawks. Three games from a perfect regular season.
I tooka flyer on St. John's to make the final four. $60 to win $900. Then UCONN Dismantled them 72-40 with St. John's missing 24 in a row to finish the game. So I got that going for me.
Or to put in strictly narrative terms, St. John's made their first shot, missed their next five, then made three, then missed 12. Properly chastened by the 15-point halftime deficit confronting them after that errant first half, they then went out and missed every field goal they attempted over the last 17:28 of the game. The final tally was 24 in a row, from 24, 11, 2, 10, 25, 12, 17, 15, 9, 16, 2, 25, 10, 2, 11, 14, 26, 2, 12, 10, 26, 26, 2, and 25 feet. That's 334 feet of misses, give or take the odd layup, parading like ants on a dessert cart with unfathomable

I like your bet. The Little General will snap back hard. Don't want to be in UConn's regional, obv. Pitino is good at taking his schools to the Final Four. Good bet. I took him at outrageous odds a few years ago, I think his last at Iona, but he drew UConn juggernaut who was routing everybody two years in a row, he drew them in the first round. And led them at half with absolutely no team compared to UConn. Good bet.
Yeah I like their group
What I found most intriguing is how ANY basketball team at any level can miss 24 shots in a row. I didn't watch the game but I DVR every NCAA basketball game. Think I'll review it just for the spectacle.
Thanks for the encouragement. Lines are off right now. I'll check in the morning and may add some more pizza money on it if the book over reacted.
I watched the first half and it was horrid. I cant believe the second was that bad or worse
Braden Smith 1k assists
Fifth all-time and climbing

I feel you, but it's as simple as the old there are thousands and thousands of games played, and some extreme bell curve stuff is bound to happen. Add the shook factor in a little on this one, no doublt. UK had a game against G-town in the Ewing years in the F4 famously. Zero points for 10+ minutes to open the second half, pretty sure it was.
Hurley revenge is kind of like Saban revenge. Scary ... even for Pitino who has seen it all. Seeing it all is not like seeing Saban. Pitino and his team got spooked.
Pitino the "Rout King" at the peak of his career, has always had the close game bugaboo. He had some kind of horrible OT record either at UK or pre-UK/plus UK. Something like 1-12, gonna have to look it up just going by memory, with the one win being when they got way behind in OT to the #1 team in the country, pretty sure 9 points behind, such that it was no longer a close game, so he got comfortable, and they won the damn thing.
The other night I was looking over the record of his very first NCAA tournament team, Boston U in 1983. As like a harbinger, that team kept losing by one or two points, 6 times, with no close wins until the very end of the year. Then they beat Holy Cross twice by 1 point in the last week to make the tourney. But it was fascinating to watch. He was always anxious about winning when it wasn't a rout. True story.
Chad Baker-Mazara has left USC. Article isn't clear on whether he got kicked off or left voluntarily, but the former seems more likely than the latter. I'm not surprised. He wasn't exactly a model of maturity at Auburn either.
