It really was. I don't know if it was possible to bet on this competition, but this morning, I'm guessing that he was at least a 15-1 favorite to win the gold medal, and probably a 50-1 favorite to make the podium.

Speaking of odds, Shiffrin is +225 to medal in the GS and -700 in the slalom, but DK isn’t offering a prop bet she gets shut out.

Saw a couple of concerning comments from her after that ungodly choke along the lines of, “I know most people only watch the Olympics, but it’s just part of a long season blah blah”.

Always a gigantic red flag from female athletes. One day they wake up and they’re just over it. Happened famously to Hope Solo & Ronda Rousey, and numerous golfers & tennis players. As stated above itt, Vonn is quite the exception.

I hope I’m wrong but I’d bet $200 at +1056 that I’m not.

If only more countries competed. At this point, as a Dutchman, I'm honestly kind of embarrassed whenever we win, but also when we don't.

I prefer Summer olympics for the illusion that everyone has similar odds to compete (given talent and determination).

Lucas Pinheiro Braathen won the giant slalom today. He is the first athlete from South America to win a medal at the Winter Olympics, ever! To be fair, he's half Brazilian, half Norwegian.
