lol Siraj oopsy daisy
can woakes go out there if we are 9 down and need 15 runs to win?
Markets have ENG at 1.7 faves. Seems insane to me.
100 p'ship. not much drama in root's 40*, as usual
Brook’s clearly got somewhere to be tomorrow
Ludicrous shots by Bethell and the brilliant Brook.
Not buying the that’s just who they are mate narrative from ex England cricketers.
Viv had all their shots and many more and wouldn’t have thrown his wicket away with a match perilously balanced like this.
That Windies side was never in a precarious position
Sure it was. England even won a test there once.
well this is temse
Playing one handed is crazy
Damn
What an incredible series though, one of the best i can remember. 2-2 seems like a fair result.
So many times it looked like it might get away from India, and it would have with previous India teams or if England still had Broad and Anderson, but they kept fighting back every time. Really great stuff.
Really fantastic series. If this doesn’t convince the diehard one day fanatics that Test cricket is compelling viewing nothing will.
That was brilliant, test cricket goat
Bring on the Ashes!
What phenomenal theatre, that was incredible. Not many teams other than this England side can confidently score 350+ in the 4th innings.
Amazing courage from Woakes, super human effort. Not thrilled about the field umpire raising his finger to give Overton out, leaves a slightly bad taste in my mouth. Would have preferred Atkinson play more with a straight bat rather than premeditating cross bat slogs most balls.
I hope this Test and this Series brings more fans to red ball cricket.
Brendon McCullum during his post-match interview: βThatβs as good a 5 match series as Iβve ever been a part of.β
So I thought Iβd check his playing stats. Baz never played in a 4-Test series let alone a 5-Test series. NZ have played just five 5-match series in their history, most recently in 1971/72, never at home, no series wins, 2 draws, 3 losses. NZ have played eight 4-Test series (3 at home) for 1 series win, 1 draw, 6 losses.
New Zealand will tour Australia in 2026/27 for the first ever 4-Test series between the two nations.
I think its the best series I've seen in the last decade.
Woakes coming out to bat with his hand in a sling, that's a sight we might never forget.

Completely agree with the thoughts on the umpiring, it always looked leg side, India had a review (which they wouldn't have lost as it was (barely) umpires call), there was obviously doubt as he took so long to raise the finger and also cost us a leg bye. Tongue was given out to one that was almost missing another set (which I believe also cost us another leg bye). I think the umpires crumbled under the pressure almost as much as England did.
Regardless, what a test and what a series and congrats to both teams.
I was bored and this came up in my YT recommendations, have a go if you think you could do a job as an umpire π
I've always felt I could be a good umpire as I seem to get most decisions correct watching TV
Spoiler
I got 18/20 correct, only #12 and #19 wrong so maybe i'm onto something :p
England were quite underwhelming today
That's more like it England.
Now prove it wasn't a fluke.
Congrats England Captain Jacob Bethell on his first professional hundred
England seem either utterly hapless or record breakingly good in white ball cricket. You don't know which team is gonna show up. 304/2 in 20 overs lol
