TV: what have you been watching?
I think The Walking Dead may be the best drama thats currently airing/in production.
There, I said it.
Cool thanks. Been interested in them for while.
No problem hope you enjoy it
I have been binging "old" series I haven't seen since they aired years ago. A couple of weeks ago I finisished "Lois and Clark". Took a couple of months. Verdict? Teri Hatcher is hawt!!!!!!!
Now I am into "Chuck". Still in season one but I can tell you Yvonne Stahovski. Hawt!!!!!!! Also Jeff is one of TVs greatest characters.
I have never been a TV rewatcher. But I am getting into it since all of this stuff is old enough and long ago enough to really enjoy it again.
I've heard that Chuck really got great in season 2, something like that.
I rewatched most of House MD 3 or 4 years ago while recovering from cataract surgery, very entertaining.
Hatcher - one of my biggest celebrity crushes growing up
Strahovski - one of the only reasons to rewatch seasons 7 and 8 of Dexter
I love Black Mirror, but the first episode of the new season is so uncomfortable and "5 minutes a way" I'm not sure I enjoyed it. It seems way too possible this is where we're headed.

Yeah , that ep1 is really dark. The accelerating steaming fees and the guy doing live video stunts for dollars felt so low and is not so different from the state of current social media. Ep 2 is also disturbing but more tolerable. Ep 3 has some fine acting and is multilevel complex. My fav so far.

Holy **** The Last Of Us. OMG...really?? REALLY?
Jason Mantzoukas is going to be on the next series of Taskmaster starting next week.
Yeah, The League was great.
interesting because those were the parts i liked the least
the original concept was going to be a movie about a mobster in therapy for issues with his mother
that didn't work so they spun it into a tv show, but the original concept was much more about therapy than mob stuff and then they made it much more mob and kind of snuck in the therapy stuff
Now they I've gone through the first 3 seasons, I see what you mean. The show seems to have a lot of therapy stuff the first half of season 1, but less as the show continues. Definitely enjoying the overall story quite a bit more now.
I'm enjoying the hell out of The Pitt. Noah Wyle is on another level. I never watched ER. No reason in particular, just never got into it. But they really captured something special here. Immersive story, dynamic cast, tons of inclusivity (race, gender, neurodivergent, etc). I care about everyone in the show and I think I have 4 episodes left and I'm terrified about the remaining episodes. When reviewing the cast on IMDB I was shocked to see Brad Dourif's kid is in the show, she's fantastic.
Spoiler
The last episode ended with an "incident" (choosing words carefully) at the music festival.
Finished The Pitt and I'm blown away by how much I enjoyed it. Believe the hype! I've seen multiple videos and tweets from medical professionals talking about how realistic the show is and even saw some say they couldn't watch because it was too spot on with how it made them feel, especially the dread of when covid arrived.
I think what makes this show so great is how lived in these characters feel. It's easy to cheer for all of them, except maybe someone like Langdon who is a jerk all the way through the season. The show is also incredibly inclusive. They have a neurodivergent doctor, and nobody quite picks up on it, but realize she's a little "off" at times. I love seeing the Filipino nurses and doctor, they seem to be a steady backbone of the healthcare system so seeing them represented is super meaningful. I appreciate that they had a trans patient come through, and one of the doctors made a correction to their gender on their file. And none of it felt forced, it all felt natural. The show never says, "Hey LOOK! Look everyone! We have POC in the ER!" Everyone acts as though they would in the real world. There are tiny spots where a character delivers a touch of exposition, but its just enough that it's not offensive.
Noah Wyle deserves all of the accolades and trophies if you're into that kind of thing. He does a fantastic job of showing what it means to be a leader with human qualities, while carrying deep invisible scars as a direct result of his career. I'm sad I missed out on ER when it aired, but I may go back and check it out.
This is the most excited I've been about a new show since The Bear. I heard it's returning for season 2 in January, I'll be there opening day!
The Agency has done a really good job as a pure remake. Very enjoyable!
Yeah, I liked the Agency quite a lot.
Andor is still great.
Re:The Pitt
I will do a write up about one night in the emergency room in the LC Thread in a couple days. I was there with a patient.
