WSOP Mini Mystery Million event $550
For past 3 years one of the popular event is Mystery Million ( Bounty) $1000 Buy- in.
Here are the runners for the event for last 3 years :
2023 β¦β¦β¦. 18188 participants.
2024 β¦β¦β¦. 18409 participants.
2025 β¦β¦β¦. 19656 participants.
For 2026 WSOP they are coming up with $550 buy-in Mystery Million.
IMHO this move will bring record breaking crowd for the most popular event with lower buy-in.
My guess is over 25000 runners!
What is your guess !
Good Luck
I was also guessing over 25, 000. Might as well make a game out of it...
For anyone who wants to guess an exact number to see who ends up being closest. I will guess:
27, 259 runners
Yeah they wanted to start the series off with a bang. If I go to one of these I might select the $1K buy -in instead. When I played that in '23 they gave out two million dollar bounty checks. Yeah decisions decisions. Unless I missed it I don't see the flip-n-go tournament for $1K. I didn't play that but watched some of the action. That is fun if you are a true degenerate gambler.

In $1000 mystery bounty they took $300 out of the $1000 for bounties.
In $550 they are talking out $200 for bounties!
They need 27282 players to built up similar bounty pool . Looks like with the popularity of bounty tournament and lower buy-in will definitely built up to same height.
I guess there will be 2 Million $ bounties in $550 too.
I made up my mind . I will be playing $550 Mystery Million.
Booked the flight & Room .

In that case I will guess 28200 runners.
( Though as per simple mathematics it should be over 30000)
To make this more fun I have decided to offer a $500 prize, payable only if someone guesses the exact number of entries. One guess per person.
There are only two simple conditions:
Spoiler
Guesses must be posted in this thread before the start of the first flight. Also only this year's million dollar bounty winners are eligible for the $500 bonus.

Great idea . Start a new thread. Would be fun
I did .
Thatβs why I was asking you to create separate thread π₯Έ
Just curious, how many 2+2 members are interested or planning to play $550 Mystery Million.
Being a retired senior, I was so excited with the announcement of $550 price point.
Don't forget as a senior, they have a $250 NLH senior daily deepstack every Thursday 9am. (assuming they don't change the day).
I will be playing in the $550 Mystery Million, as well as the Monster Stack. I already had rooms booked at Horseshoe for May 27 - June 16 before the schedule came out.

Wow thatβs 21 days !!!
Must be a big Whale π₯Έ
My trips are mostly 7-10 days.
And after 2006 first time I am not a Diamond π© so have to settle with other economical hotel.
I'm self-employed, so I come out for a few weeks every summer. the week of May 25-31 is a 10x tier credit multiplier, so we can take advantage of that. I'm Diamond plus and my buddy is 7 stars, we just alternate our reservations overlapping the check-in/check-out days and we never have to change rooms, all comped.

Good for you.
I was Diamond + since 2006.
Last year had bypass & two other surgeries.
So didnβt do much in casino and was reduce to platinum.
Oh well, nothing I can change π₯Έ

Same here with the hotel. Where are you looking? Iβm leaning toward off strip (Iβll have my car) at either Red Rock or Samβs Town. I like Red Rock but have never tried Samβs Town.
Might even hit up the Rio just to be a bit closer to the WSOP.
Since you have a car, you will likely find the best deals at a non-casino hotel, or by renting a condo/house through VRBO or AirBnB. The latter is great, especially if you want a kitchen.

Yeah, Iβve thought about that but Iβve had some mixed results with VRBO/AirBnB in the past so Iβm a little apprehensive about it.
Iβll start comparing prices for non-casino hotels, though. Donβt know why I havenβt really looked at those yet
Oh and to the topic of the thread, Iβll be the first to say over 30, 000.
Exact guess: 31247
Do you guys think that attendance will drop for the 1k Mystery bounty? I think yes, just a question of by how much.
Good question. I was favoring the 1K until you asked that. The 1K does feature a 40K starting stack compared to the 550 which has a 25K starting stack. I prefer deeper stack events given a choice.
I know there will be one Million $$ bounty guaranteed.
Are there anywhere list of other bounties?
2019 $500 Big 50 hold the record of largest attendance of any WSOP tournament with 28371 runners.
My guess is this yearβs $550 Mini Mystery Millions has potential of breaking that record .
The Big 50 had 4 starting Day 1 flights
$550 Mini Mystery has 6 starting Day 1 flights
Go figure and guess how big can be Mini Mystery .
How does playing multiple flights work in this actual tournament. Since its says you're cashing on Day 1 of the event what happens if I have a very small stack and want to try other days 1's. Do I surrender my chips for a small cash, can I play a second day 1B if I have chips from day 1A and then still get a small cash for the first stack or can I just play as many day ones as I want and if the impossible happened and qualified on all days 1's I would get five min cashes and carry on with the big stack.
I played tournament with two day ones at the Orleans and I was allowed and did qualify both days. The paid me $1, 000 for the stack they removed (with a $400 buy-in).
WSOP does not use a bestβstackβforward format.
To reβenter, you must bust. You can forfeit your stack at the end of the entry period, but you cannot play another Day 1 if you have chips that already advanced to Day 2.
If a tournament lets you forfeit at the end of Day 1 and take the minβcash, the βcorrectβ exploit would be to openβjam any two cards for the last 30 minutes, either spinning up a real stack or busting to lock the small cash and reβenter the next day.
But in this specific event, that logic flips.
Because bounties donβt start until Day 2 - and because the Day 2 bounties are massive - any stack that reaches Day 2 has far more value than a minβcash, even if you bag a single big blind. Only about 5% of the field reaches Day 2, so forfeiting and trying to run it back is a losing proposition.
One more strategic note:
Since players desperately want to survive to Day 2 for the bounties, the last hour of Day 1 tends to be extremely tight. If you have a playable stack, you can often steal relentlessly and accumulate chips with very little resistance.
13. Re-entry is allowed as specified on the structure sheet for the WSOP Event. Participants may re-enter these Events by
registering at the WSOP Registration area or through the online registration system. Participants must have zero (0) chips
remaining to re-enter or be subject to disqualification. At the end of the registration period for all re-entry Events, Participants
will be given the option to forfeit their current stack and pay to re-enter. All Participants who re-enter will receive a full starting
stack. Participants who re-enter will be considered a new Participant to the Event.

What 2026 event # 1 Mini Mystery Million can do ?

Almost all of the TDs will allow you to be busted with chips at the end of day 1 if you try to bust intentionally in the last few hands and fail to. I witnessed it twice myself in the last two WSOPs. But once you bag, you cannot then play any subsequent flights and there is no best bag forward.
