LHE
2/4, 4/8, 10/20, 20/40

7 Stud
1-3 spread, 1-5 spread, 5/10, 10/20, 20/40, 75/150

Cash Games run occasionally:

NLHE
10/20, 10/25. Typically run when there are major tournaments going on (WPT, Megastacks, etc), but sometimes also run on random days.

LHE
5/10 w/kill. Used to be a regular game but now just runs sometimes.
40/80 or 50/100. Typically runs on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday evenings.

Omaha
1/2 PLO and/or 1/2 PLO H/L. Most days at least 1 of these games will run but not always.
2/5 PLO sometimes gets started as well.

OE (Omaha H/L, 7 card H/L)
10/20 or 15/30. Runs a few days during the week.

NL/PL Buy-ins:

1/2 - $60-300
2/5 - $200-500
5/10 - $500-2k
10/20 - $1k-5k
10/25 - $2.5k-unlimited

Other Cash Games:

Higher stakes games get run during major tournaments. Also mixed games can pop up at any time, anywhere in stakes from 5/10 to 150/300, and any mix of the games that make up HORSE (HORSE, OE, SOE, etc… H and R are rarely seen in a mix outside of a full HORSE game).

There is a webpage set up that shows all of the games currently running, updated every 15 minutes.

Some general rules:

  • The betline is merely a courtesy line for the dealers. Please place all bets inside this line. It is not used for legal enforcement of any action.
  • At showdown, you must show 2 cards to make a claim to the pot, even if all others muck without showing.
  • There is no IWTSTH rule.
  • Players (up to 2) are allowed up to 1 hour away from the table, after which you risk being picked up by the floor.
  • There is a 3rd man walking rule in raked games. If there are at least 2 other players away from the table, you only have 10 minutes to be away from the table. There is no such rule in timed games.
  • In PL/NL games, $100 cash bills play, but other cash denominations do not. In limit games, most cash denominations play.

Tournaments:

Foxwoods runs several daily tournaments. They also run lots of special tournaments, such as Megastacks (quarterly), Foxwoods Poker Classic (Mar/Apr), WPT (Oct/Nov), and several holiday events. Tournament monthly schedule can be found here:

More information on these tournaments can be found in various tabs/links on the Foxwoods Poker website linked above.

Bad Beat Jackpot:

Foxwoods runs 2 player-funded bad beat jackpots (BBJ) – 1 for holdem and 1 for stud. The games that contribute to and are eligible for the BBJ are:

Holdem
1-2nl, 2-5nl, 2-4, 4-8, 5-10, 10-20.

Stud
1-3, 1-5, 5-10.

For holdem, a hand of quad 8’s or better must lose to a better hand for the BBJ to be hit. Both hole cards in both hands must play, and for quads the player must hold a pocket pair (A8 on 888xx board doesn’t qualify, despite the Ace playing). For stud, quad 2’s or better must lose to a better hand.

50% of the jackpot is awarded to the 2nd place hand (the “loser”😉, 25% awarded to the winner, and 25% split among the rest of the players. You must be dealt into the hand to receive a share – if you were away from the table, you’re ineligible.

These are the general rules. Please visit the website for further specific rules.

Comps:

Comps are tracked using the Rewards card. These can be obtained at any of the several Rewards desks found throughout the property. The floorperson can also create one for you. All you need is a valid ID.

Foxwoods Poker Room utilizes the Bravo tracking system. The dealer will swipe your Rewards card when you sit at the table, and log you out when you leave. Your points will be immediately available on your account.

Points are the equivalent of dollars, which can be used anywhere in the casino, except for gaming (hotel, restaurant, retail, etc). They do allow you to cash out your points, at a rate of 2 points for $1 cash. Retail gift cards, such as Mobil gas cards, Stop & shop cards, etc, can be purchased for 62.5 points for a $50 card. If you use points to purchase gas at the Mobil station, the rate is 1 point to $1.

Comps at restaurants - Points are redeemed at 1:1 at all restaurants with the following exceptions:
Guy Fieri's - the point:dollar ratio is 1.25:1
Bake Culture - the point:dollar ratio is 2:1

The amount of points you earn varies by game. Each game title will be followed by the letter L, M, or H (example: 1-2 No Limit H). This tells you the comp level for that game. L = 0.85 pt/hr, M = 1.275 pt/hr, H = 1.7 pt/hr, HC = 1.7 pt/hr (Time collection instead of rake).

There are weekly/monthly comps that are awarded, such as cash giveaways, gifts, show tickets, free points, free rooms, etc. The way to earn these as a poker player is relatively unknown, as the comp system is rather enigmatic in this regard.

Tier credits are earned at poker at a rate of 4 credits per point earned. So 1 hour at 1/2nl earns 1.7 pts and 6.8 credits. Occasionally the casino will run promotions which multiply the earn rate. Tier credits are what is used to advance in tier card status. Please see the website for more info on tier card benefits and requirements.

Hotels:

There are 3 hotels within the structure: Great Cedar, Grand Pequot, and Fox Tower (formerly MGM). There is a 4th hotel on the property called Two Trees Inn. There is a shuttle which runs between Foxwoods and Two Trees every 10 minutes, 24/7. All hotels have wireless internet.

Here are some Pros/Cons to each:

  • Fox Tower – Generally accepted as the nicest hotel, having the most comfortable beds, large bathrooms, great showers. Rooms are around 400 sqft. It is the farthest from the poker room, taking most people around 15 mins to walk.
  • Grand Pequot – Has the largest rooms (450 sqft), renovated around 2 years ago. Most centrally located on-property of the 3. Prices were raised when remodeled.
  • Great Cedar – Renovated around 6 years ago. Closest to the poker room. Smaller then Pequot/Fox Tower (350 sqft). Tiny bathroom. Lots of noise from hallway/outside.
  • Two Trees – Generally the cheapest of them all. Motel quality, renovated around 2 years ago. Inconvenience of waiting for the shuttle (or walking/driving).

There is no poker rate for the hotels. Hotel rates will vary for each person based on their player rating with the casino, as well as the usual factors (day of week, availability, etc). Floors will usually have no problem finding out what’s available for you if you inquire while playing. All quoted prices will have a $25/night resort fee added on (except Two Trees, which is $18) as well as 15% tax. No resort fee on comped rooms.

There are lots of hotels/motels within 15-20 mins driving distance around Foxwoods. A google search should reveal most of them. They will generally be much cheaper than staying on property. Search this thread for ‘priceline’ for tips on staying for cheap.

Parking:

The closest garage to the poker room is the Rainmaker Garage. The closest surface lot is J Lot (also the closest parking overall). There is also the Rainmaker Valet just outside the parking garage.

In that case I sure hope it wraps up before 12am when they shut it all down.. In all seriousness this is good to see and a step in the right direction

Structure sheet says an equity chop will be forced at 3:30am. Not sure if they’ll also do 3:30am for the Day 1’s but at least they understand that they’ll need to bend the rules a bit for the length of these multi-day’s.

by PokerEthics k

lol no one at fw using solvers for that game. You couldn’t use solvers to play in a limpfest anyway where pots go 3-7 ways to a flop.

It’s bad misregs who play for comps. They simple don’t have the money to make poker profitable at those stakes. If they do have the money, they’re going to limp all day so it’s going to take a long time to get it.

No they are not using them. But they see how others play when they watch TV. They notice players betting small so they do it, they don't know why they are doing but they do it because they saw some one on TV do it

Good news: they are doing a 2 day tournament with multiple days 1s
Bad news: every single flight and the day 2 are all on weekdays

$600 entry
Day 1s July 22-25. Day 2 July 25

Mohegan does this too. It must be a dealer shortage or something, because there's plenty of tables in each venue. Hell, Mohegan has like 2,000 sq ft of unused space in their poker room

The rake in the summer championship has become quite the topic on X. I think it's around 27% which is crazy

It is crazy. We can’t give them our business at that price.

I will be there because it's a 1k+ in New England so it's automatically amazingly soft and full of value but I will feel like a POS paying that kind of rake

they changed the rake to a more reasonable number on the 1200

Holy crap that’s crazy! Glad they actually listened to the players. I’m shocked they did that

Glad they listened but it’s still too f’n high. That 5% off top in fine print on the bottom of structure sheet. GFY.

Did anyone eat at Hells Kitchen while they were filming one of the two seasons of the show?

No, but I know someone who had a meal there and enjoyed it a lot

I just checked my Foxwoods app as I was thinking of going there because it had been a while. My App showed my balance and then it all went to zero. I just double checked it logging in via the website and it is now zero. I had hundreds of points in my account - all earned. Between aging parents and work commitments it has not been easy to break away and go up. But what makes me so angry, is that there was absolutely zero warning that I was about to lose all my points.

Has this happened? Anyone else and also is there a way to get them back?

Probably did happen. Likely when you opened, you saw the old balance. When app connected to their server and updated the balance went to zero.

The only warning is in the ToS. They can put all or some back. Need to ask host but if you don’t have an assigned host, probably won’t put back or maybe just token amount. Even with assigned host, purely their discretion.

They expire automatically after one year. I haven't logged in for a couple years, but it always used to say right under the points balance on the site that they do expire after one year. I have heard of plenty of people getting their points back when asking at a rewards desk, but I'm not sure if they still do that

First time I’ve been here in months and the computer system has crashed. No one can cash their chips out in the entire casino and it’s been over 2 hours.

What an absolute joke. How can every casino patron be denied the ability to cash out for hours? I was planning on going over to Mohegan shortly after and now I’m stuck here lol god dammit.

How could nobody cash out chips? You don't need computers to cash out chips.

I was there too ALL cages in casino closed no cash out chips but you could chip up if rack had enough space. cage opened around 4PM. still no excuses.
Second time in a week it happened.

Not knowing their exact processes but yes you likely need computers. Surveillance is computer driven. They might log each cash out at cage. Might use automated cash counters for cash out; whuch are computerized. Etc.

I was there for few hours on Saturday doing the tier multiplier. I guess that explains why there were some many machines disabled on all the casino floors.

Does the PLO game run early Sat morning, like 9am? Going to be in the area in a couple of weeks with a 3-4hrs to kill in the morning.

Hello all! I am just taking up poker again after playing professionally a decade ago and will actually be moving to or near to New London, CT in a couple months time.

I had always been under the impression that Foxwoods was pretty big, but from the chatter above it sounds like the biggest NLHE game is 2-5 and even that’s dying a bit?

If so, are there other rooms in the vicinity where I might find bigger games/more action?

The NL and PLO action is at Mohegan. Lots of 2/5. 5/10 runs 2-3 days a week and is not soft.

12 years ago, Foxwoods was the big room in NE. They've lost a lot of their strength. As of this moment, they have the 5th number of tables going in NE, behind Encore in Everett, Mohegan, MGM in Springfield and even Chasers in Salem NH. I hope you're not moving to New London for the poker action. There are way too many others places that are better to play.

Twin River in Lincoln, RI.

They were big. Post-pandemic they basically gave up, they just want to have a small room now
