Use this tool for hand history (shortcuts and auto pot calc)

Hey all, I created this tool to help you write hand history down more easily and visualize better.

You can use shortcuts like b for bet and x for check, and it also calculates pot size automatically.

Here's the example hand history generated using the tool. Check it out and let me know if you have any feedback!

Blinds: $2/5
Hero: CO (A️ 5️)
Villain(s): SB, MP
Effective Stack: $550

Preflop ($7):
MP limps, Hero raises $30, SB calls, MP folds

Flop ($70): 5️ 6️ 9
SB checks, Hero checks

Turn ($70): 5️ 6️ 9️ 4
SB checks, Hero bets $35, SB raises $110, Hero calls

River ($290): 5️ 6️ 9️ 4️ K
SB bets $110, Hero goes all-in $450, SB calls

Total pot: $1, 190

Very cool!

Thank you!

I'll try to use this just can be difficult at work!

hope you like it!

I like it, thanks for sharing!

My only suggestion is that showing the preflop pot and the total pot can lead to some confusion. In the 5/T hand you posted, starting the hand off with "$15" made me intuit that the guy's $50 raise was a 3.3x open, not a 5x open.

Similarly, when there's uncalled action at the end of a hand, and it shows the Total Pot as pot+bet, I could see that leading to some confusion and people thinking that was the size of the pot as of when the bet went in. I haven't actually made that mistake yet, but I think when you put those two numbers that close to each other it's only a matter of time before someone misinterprets it.

I know this is kind of user error and my brain just shouldn't make as many leaps and assumptions as it does, but I would design UI to account for people with at least as many intellectual disabilities as I have 😃

Thanks for the reply! So, the number in parentheses is what you start the street with. I added total pot because on the river, what you start and what you end is different. For preflop, I think online hand histories show blinds added, so I just did that. Please let me know if you have any additional suggestions!

I understand and I see how it's rationally correct, I'm just pointing out how it will lead to (irrationally) confusion for some users. When we see "Preflop ($15), Raise to $50" the mind can jump to "this was a 3x raise" or when we see "Bet $200, Total Pot: $600" the mind can jump to "this was a 1/3p bet."

I see, understood! Thanks for the feedback!
