My real hand plays it self. But how should I play other holdings.
1/3 nl 400 max. H $350. V covers
V young rich Asian. Has been losing a lot. Seems to have a never ending supply of cash to rebuy. Loose splashy aggressive and sticky. HJ
H TAG. I’ve been card dead. And down about $50. Pocket Kings cutoff.
Pre
One limper
V takes it to $40. This is a larger than average raise at this table. Most raises are between $15-$20 regardless of the number of limpers. Sometimes I think I’m the only one who sizes different for the number of players in. V has raised to different sizes before and has made and called 3 bets before.
H $125.
Folds to V who calls.
Flop ($250 after flop) 8 2 2 rainbow
V $75
H shoves
V calls
Turn is a 7 river is a Queen.
Like I said this hand was easy to play. But what if I had AK or AQ or pockets Jacks or tens. Vs $40 bet seems to large to set mine with. 3 betting with broadway cards could be risky since V won’t fold. Should I just wait for the nuts against this guy?

3bet is a bit big, it's a committing size. It's ok since V called.
As for AK/AQ/JJ/TT type hands. You can fold or flat or click it to 90 or jam. Or if you have a read that V only does it with premiums for such sizing then you can fold everything besides KK+.
Face this kind of whale often
I don’t think you change your TAG standards, but play a little less aggressive vs this guy. Guys like this will blow up the pot without needing any help from you.
Don’t want to be OOP vs this kind of player.
You should be in good shape with position, because he can’t surprise you and he’s still got to make a hand. These guys will call thru turn and fold river - I know one guy that will go to the river with a pair of threes no matter the action, so bet your good stuff.
I sometimes talk to these guys (to remind them the tight guy is calling) like “it’ll be just my luck you got aces, this time” or “oboy, what am I getting myself into” etc. I think they tend to play more straight-forward - *they don’t want to lose, just the money is no pressure to them*
A couple of these guys are so unpredictable, and so willing to put my stack in play, that I stay out of their way. Not playing anything marginal, unless they fold ahead of me.
Just throwing this out there…
Most people that think they are tight are playing too many hands. That said, I would probably play all those hands with confidence & treat a 40 raise like a 15 from this guy. You’re not set-mining, you’re probably ahead of his range.
However, if for whatever reason you don’t feel confident, folding is rarely terrible. Hope this helps, to me these guys are action, these guys are fun.

Yes we can never set mine with our stack size.
Did V roll over his hand? Based on your description it sounds like he’s making these raises with garbage, so all the hands you listed are snap get ins against him ~100bb effective
Did he rollover his hand?
I don’t remember seeing any of his hands just that he was normally the loser.
I don’t think I understand what you are saying. We are more like 200b effective. Would you get in on the flop or the turn? With AK or AQ and your small pairs? Or just with kings or aces?

OP says we have $350 at $1/3 where is 200bb coming from?
What I was saying is if this V just opens to $40 and we only have 100bb, I’m just jamming. Reason being is any reasonable 3! size is committing us anyways, so just jam.
Sorry, the poker room just changed stakes from 1-2 to 1-3, buy ins stayed the same. Im just so used to thinking Im 200bb deep, I didn’t realize I was this shallow after losing a few hands.
For whoever is interested. Vmucked his hand. He said he had a pocket pair, but which one. The 8 7 and queen was out there, he obviously didn’t have Aces, this guy would probably have shoved Jacks.
This somewhat seems like a "how do I play poker" thread.
V is a maniac. He bets big with his bluffs, and big with his value. The adjustment is to give him rope to bluff when we have value and not try to fight fire with fire by playing back at him.
He apparently has a bottomless bankroll. If you don't, just out-play him, by over-folding your marginal hands and getting max value with your nutted hands by inviting him to punt off his stack.
