"What to do if you've been banned" sticky - Discussion thread

Thank you very much, citanul, for the sticky, above.

I am certain a few ATFers will want to chat about it for a while, so here's the place to do it.

There really should be a way to get in touch with a mod when you are banned

Like mods should have to have a public discord or an email address or something

A way to contact mods through Email or Discord. I'm sure that channel would receive lots of coherent, mature and relevant messages (NOT)

If you get banned or tempbanned, you are not aupposed to make or use a gimmick, not supposed to make others make an atf thread, but feel free to reach out to the mod who banned you even though you have no way to reach out to him or her as the case may be

but feel free to reach out to the mod who banned you

Who says that? I have zero interest in anyone reaching out to me while they're banned.

So you shouldn't be able to discuss at all?

The sticky literally tells you to first contact the mod who banned you before talking to anyone else, so... maybe new management needs to either change the sticky, or relay that policy to the mods.

There was a second post in the sticky that gave Mat's e-mail as the contact point, but that was subsequently removed and a replacement post accidentally overlooked.

Not many banned people seem to have wanted to contact anyone for some long time now, but I think the few that did used the method of opening a new account just to make contact without using the new account for general posting.

I believe you can't pm on a new account

The sticky clearly says we should not make a new account but instead to contact the mod that banned you

So it is impossible to contact the mod that banned you without breaking that rule and even then I'm not sure you can pm him

So maybe a general mod email address to email to try to plead your

So as i said, an email address, something, whatever but there should be a way to get a message to the mod

Agree.

Quick question

In the sticky about this topic is says to PM a mod when you are banned

But when i was life-banned for reposting a deleted post I couldnt even get into 2+2, all I got was this:

If I clicked on a subforum it looked exactly the same and also the Contact Us button didnt work.

Since I thought (and other mods did too fortunately) that reposting a deleted post with nothing offensive or discriminatory or similar didnt deserve a ban for life I would have liked to contact someone but simply couldnt.

How that does work nowadays?

Sounds like you'd have to create a gimmick account and post enough to activate PMs. Not ideal.

Basically what I thought. But ofc making another account is an infraction and makes it even more difficult to fight an undeserved ban.
