This thread is to inform people of the game selection in our area. Will tell what I know and hope for help.

Fallsview: All NLHE: many 2-5 tables $100-500 buy-in, one or more 5-10 game 200-1000 buy-in, 10-20 weekends only . One 5-5 PLO has been going most of every weekend also. YAY!
Casino Niagara: lots of 1-2 NLHE, rumor has it it's the place to be. Never been there myself.
Port Perry: 20-40 Omaha High some days, 10-20 hold 'em every day, dunno what else.
Brantford: 10-20, 20-40 with a kill. Haven't been there in awhile. When people talk about the place the words "action" and "kill" keep coming up.
Rama: 1-2 NLHE and ???
Private games....something somewhere😀
Wait times can be long, especially on weekend.
I am a Fallsview girl obv! (when I'm not on Pokerstars😀 )
Would love to hear other's opinions on the choices in the area.

According to dealers at Woodbine, Pickering Casino will be opening an Poker room in January. It'll have roughly 10 tables.
Anyone have any other info?
I heard "in a couple months" but that was in early December.
I heard January 28th is the target date. 8 tables to start with more to be added shortly after.
It will be the same rake, same company ownership but the extra tables should make the wait times lower.
Pickering opens on Monday. Same rake. Unless it’s an oversight I don’t see 1/3 listed. Would likely make the 2/5 game even better.
What are the buyins currently for $2/$5 and $5/$10
1k and 3k at Toronto room.
Anyone play at the Pickering room yet? I read that they have 18 tables which is almost double what they originally planned on. Games start at 2/5 so the action should be good but with Woodbine being so much closer maybe not. Does Great Canadian own both casinos?
I checked it out yesterday. Only 8 tables were setup but plenty of room for more. 2 1/3 and 2 2/5 running early evening.
Room is nice. Detached from the Casino on the 3rd floor of the hotel.
No bad beat yet. List on Excel but they did say proper software was coming “soon”.
What is the minimum and max for the 1/3 and 2/5 and is it the same rake structure and does the room have any benefits? Thanks.
Same buy ins and same rake. Only benefit is they actually have working TVs.
I’ll be sticking to Woodbine until the room picks up a bit.
Woodbine and Pickering will both be switching to PokerAtlas as soon as the deal goes through. The 5/5 game has been picking up the last couple of days, and there's plans to start running 20/40 Omaha today. Currently no way of tracking players for comps, not sure if that's gonna change when atlas is implemented. They only confirmed the opening date a couple days before the room opened and didn't advertise any 1/3 or Omaha which I believe is the biggest contributer to the room's slow start, but we'll see how the opening weekend goes.
Comps at a GCC room ROFL. Your comp is youre 12th in line trying to buy chips at the cage with their 1 employee working in there whos currently giving money to the slot attendant which takes at least 5 minutes.
Is woodbine or pickering spreading PLO? or just limit Omaha.
Thanks
Thanks
What's the rake on the 20/40 limit omaha game?
I played at Pickering for a few hours last night.
When I got there at 9pm during the Super Bowl, three tables of $1/$3 NL and two tables of $2/$5 NL were running. When I left at midnight, just the three $1/$3 tables were still going.
They are currently using an Excel-based list. $1/$3 is $300 max, $2/$5 is $1000 max. Lists were also open for $5/$5 NL and $20/$40 Omaha half-kill. Call-ins taken with 90 minutes to check in. They post semi-regular updates on their Twitter page.
Room was brand new. It's up on the third floor, so secluded from the main casino floor -- could be good or bad depending on your view. Way more staff on hand than was necessary. Cage person was brand new and took forever to count out stacks of reds.
Rake at my $1/$3 table was 10% to $20 max. I didn't look, but I assume this was what they take at the bigger games as well. Unexpected nuance of this room was dealers counting down and stacking medium-sized pots before pushing them to ensure they are taking the correct rate. Really highlights that this rake structure is complete robbery.
Overall the room is promising, especially for people like me who live on the east end of the city - don't have to drive to the airport or Port Perry.
Thanks for the great detailed post. How long until the $20 take dries up the pond?
I don't see how $20 max rake is sustainable at a $1/$3 game. There just aren't big waiting lists or this much new money coming onto the table, even on busier nights. This isn't rocket science.
On their Instagram a few weeks ago, they specifically said that $1/$3 was being offered 'during their soft launch due to high demand'. Maybe the plan is to eventually nuke these small games, leaving only bigger $2/$5+ games where the obscene rake isn't as noticeable.
I don't know. Frustrates me to no end that Ontario poker is this way.

It's not poker but roulette on the floor of Woodbine now has three zero roulette, I have never heard of that before.
The greed of the company partnering with government is unbelievable.
This is on the players side, they also are union busters maybe that's why there are hardly any wait staff anymore working the floors.
I was surprised when last Friday there was almost no wait around 7-8pm. Ok it was Chinese new year but still very dead. The next night though, there was a 60 person wait list.
A 60 person wait list will make it a very long time before the pond runs dry
I don’t think it will ever run dry
