Home Surveillance Guest Etiquette
You have quite a lot of cameras on your property recording things. Nothing invasive or intentionally meant to spy upon people like bathroom/guest bedroom cameras but more just general security.
Driveway, dock, garage, entrances, yard, etc.
What obligation, if any, do you have to disclose to your guests.
Let's say you're throwing a bbq in your yard and the entire thing will be captured on security footage.
Babysitter
Dog walker
Gardener
etc
do you disclose, should you disclose, how do you disclose?
Where exactly were you caught masturbating?
lol wp
That's a pretty good question. What you *have* to disclose depends on your jurisdiction but what *should* you disclose?
I'd say at least everywhere where a guest wouldn't necessarily expect a camera like in bedrooms? (insert funny home porn joke here)
This should cover it.
I think the gardener was caught weed-whacking off
I remember there was a house in our neighborhood in the late 90s that had a permanent pole with a sign stating that the property was under camera surveillance. I guess it was a legal disclosure?
Now everyone has Ring or whatever cameras all over and no signs and no one discloses such information. You would think when you bought your camera they'd provide a website with a guide for all of the rules across the US.
I assume whatever my cameras captures and sends up into the ether is not private. We joke about Jeff Bezos masturbating to the wildlife around my house.
i'm kind of surprised this thread hasn't caught more attention
i feel like these are genuine questions/dilemmas and also provides a great platform to troll me so a little disappointed by the lack of discussion
i personally feel that having to mention it to everyone is a bit awkward/redundant - "hey come over to my bbq tonight at 6, and by the way, the entire backyard we'll be in is under surveillance"
so i'm thinking of just putting up some signs and then leaving it at that, if people don't notice the signs, that's on them
but i would also think if i didn't have those signs up then i would be in the wrong as friends and family should be aware if/when they are under video
In all seriousness, I would only be personally offended if indoor cameras weren’t disclosed. Anywhere outside is fair game.
Especially all of the current camera systems are designed to be seen as a deterrent.
Install bay windows and you won’t need cameras to begin with.
You need to tell them about the cameras but do it in a subtle, wink-and-nod kind of way. That way they get more of an erotic thrill getting “accidentally” caught cranking the hog. Otherwise it’s not as fun.
outdoor is expected
indoor living areas not surprising
better tell about bed or bath
have the toilet squirt water as a warning
I'm kind of disappointed that nobody has suggested rickroll get in touch with Dominic for help editing the BR video.
Camera should be under the lid of the tank to catch those upper deckers in progress.
what exactly was her plan? to rip it off or pull him through the wall?
idk what his plan was either tbf
