again call/fold decision in 3bet pot

again call/fold decision in 3bet pot

Villain is quite loose, a bit wide VPIP/PFR gap 34/27 (5-max game) but can be OK because there are so many bad players you want to play many pots, agressive.

No idea why he opened 4BB.

I used all my timebank. They rarely have a set because 66 won't resist raising flop often. With my Q I block a bit of straights. They have KT, TJ, KJ. I don't know what to do of this.

What would you do and why?

€0.20 NL (5 max)

CO: 100 BB
BTN: 148 BB
Hero (SB): 106 BB
BB: 56.9 BB
UTG: 49.85 BB

Hero posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has Q K

fold, fold, BTN raises to 4 BB, Hero raises to 13 BB, fold, BTN calls 9 BB

Flop: (27 BB, 2 players) T K 6
Hero bets 9.45 BB, BTN calls 9.45 BB

Turn: (45.9 BB, 2 players) J
Hero checks, BTN bets 22.95 BB, Hero calls 22.95 BB

River: (91.8 BB, 2 players) 8
Hero checks, BTN bets 102.6 BB and is all-in, Hero ?

If heis not a fish, he is opening 4bb to target a fish on BB. If that's the case you are not playing against BTN ramge it's more like he opened from UTG, so you either fold or call if BB is big enough of a fish.

You could block bet turn again. River seems like a fold. Hard for him to find enough bluffs let alone to overbluff this spot, esl if this 4bb open is really strong range.

Define 'quite loose'

I either know someone is aggro or not. If they're 'loose' I just mark them as fish, because all generic fish are loose. If they have the aggro tag then I probably call. Essentially they can either stop themselves or they can't.. and aggros can't stop because BC-XB-XJ is a crazy pyschodramatic fun line to own regs (plus they'll merge a lot too)

I don't mark many players aggro though. They have to earn it.. And if it was reasonable they're more likely to get the possbily good tag instead. Calling probably prints in this spot vs them but otherwise I'm not even 3betting.

I am not folding anything to an aggrofish who half pots turn and jams river. Losing to 22 isn't fun

block turn and block river is better

Good point Haizemberg93 about the explanation of the 4BB open, indeed BB is a big fish.

About blocking turn... What if I bet 15BB and get raised?

I bet there is some kind of MDA on 1/2 pot turn and pot+ river jam.

The Baluga theorem states that when getting check-raised/reraised on the turn. Single pairs are rarely any good.

(It's an old theorem and gto def made it out of date but on the micro's I believe it still holds alot of thruth)
