any japanese watch is gross as far as i'm concerned - just don't like them - mostly because they are usually
can't imagine spending more than $10 on a watch and its quartz
**** I want one of these. I got a Samsung 5 pro watch right now and it's just pissing me off. thinking of selling it and getting a watch sub 1k

elegant but with a touch of something extra. i feel that for me in my watch evolution, the watch i am currently lusting after showcases a tourbillon but is otherwise very elegant and restrained. and i think this watch has that aesthetic of classy and low key but then a splash of BAM. and hamilton adds a nice amount of work finishing on the movement, you see pearlage on the baseplate, which is an artisan metalworking technique that every top tier swiss watch has. and you can see some ruby jewels, but they're necessary jewels, these jewels have a job, they're shock absorbers that are working with the rest of the components of the movement to keep precise time. i like this one.
When I was looking into getting a watch I was actually considering this one:
But then I thought **** it's not worth the money and so I just got the Invicta I posted earlier, it also has the fancy moving things to be seen in the back but doesn't cost anything

a steinhart was my first "real watch" purchase, at around what your budget is right now. they've got a lot of cool watches but here's the thing with steinhart: they make "homage" watches. so basically every watch they have is very very reminiscent of a famous high horology timepiece. but! importantly for legal reasons and for watch collectors, they don't proclaim to be a rolex daytona or whatever. it's not a fake rolex. but from 6 feet away, unless an observer is really a nutjob aficionado, the reaction to it on your wrist will be varying levels of "nice watch"
this is a neat one for 740 euros that is a blend of a rolex gmt master ii and an iwc aquatimer.
or just get the rolex gmt master batman homage, which looks fantastic and you could properly wear it swimming and diving
compared to 16k for
it's mechanical movement or nothing as far as i'm concerned
really like those paketa 24 hour russian sub watches but super hard to get now due to sanctions

if it aint a rollie it aint a rollie my dude.
but the watch looks good.
just saw an add for this, and, although, not super fancy, it looked pretty cool.
i think you'd like it more if it had tritium and overlaid on a book about murder
Quite nice.
Extra points for leather strap.
If I ever have throw away money, I’ll get one.
