How does kansas city’s demographics like race, political affiliation, education level, average income differ? The answers might be relevant!

Also how do gay bars in kansas city differ from gay bars in overland park? the answer is overland park doesn’t have any!

by Bobo Fett k

Ah, from an extremely lame attempt to discredit SB's knowledge of Kansas politics, to an in-depth Kansas voting analysis. Luckbox bringing the on-topic quality posting to the moderation thread! 🙄

Can we do Nebraska next?

When I think “cosmopolitan gay Mecca,” Kansas City is always foremost in my mind.

because of people like me. and only now. It was one of the most consistently red counties in the entire country and voted red for 100 years.

do you think perhaps that since the gays are less likely to have children and continue the blue trend that they are subconsciously onboard with being more welcoming to children who may or may not just be going through a phase?

Obviously, someone in their 30’s from kansas city could have(and did) experienced all kinds of homophobia, like from the fine folks at chiefs planet. I don’t need to prove overland park is to the right of kansas city to justify some true story i wrote 10 years ago that luckbox is angrily alluding to because i told a joke that goes against his political narrative. And i have lived a number of places besides there.
But that sweeps under the rug the very real history of homophobia amd transphobia in overland park. Westboro baptist church is less than an hours drive away, and there were many very vocal anti lgbt protest besides them ( the god hates **** people). Kris Kobach got his start politically in the overland park city council by voicing opinions typical of that area.

When i say relationships were illegal I do not just mean marriage. As late as 2002 (when i was a sophomore in high school) they arrested guys for kissing. There were no gay clubs and in my high school there were no gay people(openly)

But my larger point is this idea that he can glean into the mind and know what some gay guy’s experience was who he doesn’t even know goes hand in hand with this idea that a small handful of old men can see deeper into the minds of trans people than trans people.
And what do the experts say, all the major medical and psychological associations that are typically relied upon for questions like this, they all agree with those trans people.

By the way maybe i have downplayed problems of experienced rather than overplayed them but you don’t like the tone I wrote about them in. I have a strong hunch as to why!

My only point is that Kansas City suburbs aren't rural Alabama. I've said nothing about your experiences and have no idea what post about something that happened to you 10 years ago you are talking about, let alone me alluding to it angrily.

What post are you talking about?

by spaceman Bryce k

There are certain parts of kansas I avoid. But now I can go to those towns and say something like “ I am a perfectly healthy cisgender man and the woke mob tried to say i’m trans just because I like nail polish and am gay. But I saw through their lies! I’ll never be a woman. Now me and johnny are going to have some anti-woke cisgender not woke gay sex in the barn. Thanks for fighting femboy erasure my fellow kansans”

You always act like you're from Kansas like you grew up somewhere in the sticks with a bunch of hillbillies, but you're from Overland Park.

This was the original start of the conversation. No one brought up overland park until you did in response to the above joke. There was no reason to bring it up at all that makes sense. I think it’s pretty clear why you did.

I brought it up because I noticed you play up the Kansas angle a ton and I have been waiting patiently for you to do it again, which you did today.

Why do you think I brought it up?

It's pretty hilarious to use voting for Trump as a metric for bigotry given what we have seen from liberals over the last 4 years.

I still don’t know what you mean by play up the kansas angle. If you’re saying I talk about Kansas it’s because i’m from there.

I think you brought it up because you couldn’t ignore a joke that wasn’t basically of the “my pronouns are kiss/my/ass” variety in regards to trans issues and that you want to silence pro trans views. wsopfinal table concurred and said you wouldn’t bring up overland park if I stopped making pro trans posts. You have thousands and thousands of posts in trans threads that have a pretty consistent pattern.

There is no played up kansas angle in the post. obviously if I were to spend the day visiting random small towns they would likely be in the state I live in.

LOL.

Bryce,

I like you, I like your posts. I think you have interesting takes on things, and when I am back in Kansas City again I'll PM you again and we really should meet up for a drink.

But I don't have some bizarre need to counter your jokes.

bryce to be fair to luckbox, you've always painted it as if you were in a redneck town where dust and corn mazes and meth were all that was available

and then we learn you're inside a major metropolis that has its own sports franchise

meanwhile you paint up in rural new england where i grew up as a gay mecca which is genuinely a small town and while we have gays, there are no gay bars, they instead go antiquing

you live in the top 1% of the most progressive part of the world

I don’t believe you. I base this on thousands of posts you have made in trans threads where you argue against almost all pro-trans posts. This whole conversation about op alone that you started is like 30 posts of you having no idea what you’re talking about aggressively trying to make a point that all started because I made a joke, which is typical for your posts in trans threads.

by Luckbox Inc k

And a gay mecca at that.

It’s not a gay mecca but we have done our best. Thanks for posting whatever pops into your head to downplay the history of homophobia in johnson county for no reason at all for dozens of posts.

I am certainly pro-trans. Ice and tea and everything, they make so much effort. Although, and this is a pro tip - stick with the tea, cold is not cool.

The only thing I ever do in the trans threads is argue that gender is artificial so I have no clue what you're talking about.

You're either seeing monsters under the bed or you're just upset that I ruined your rural Kansas game.

by Luckbox Inc k

Think blowies

I did live in rural kansas, and texas.

bryce, i'm not in gay mecca livin it up like you right now, but i am gay adjacent as i'm in the ozarks right now and it's not that far away

there are just as many trans and gay dudes signing up as straight women to go straight hunting on the dating apps as in what you consider gay paradise of massachusetts

literally no difference in the quantity and ratio of the alphabet army out here compared to new england

i like you a lot

but you tend to have a persecution complex

you used to think 2p2 sucked because it was all people in their 30s when you were younger

and yet now that you are in your 30s, you complain that 2p2 sucks because it's all olds

you also bring up being gay and struggle it entails, i was fully aware of your sexual orientation immediately because you bring it up a lot, not because it's germane to the conversation (as it comes up with most gay 2p2ers when i discover they are gay (every poster is an overweight straight white man in his 40s in my mind until proven otherwise) but you tend to bring up your sexuality a lot but mostly in regards to the struggle and bias you faced as a result

i want to be clear that i 100% believe you and i do not doubt for one second that it would have been a whole lot easier at times in your life if you were born straight, and I won't for one second ever begin to presume or understand the unique difficulties of growing up gay

but i think your perspective is off, i think had you even grown up in pacific northwest which is the 2nd biggest gay mecca after KC, then you would have still undergone a lot of the difficulties - much like basically everybody has difficulties

again, i'm sure it was much tougher for you growing up than for me, but i had a lot of issues that were indeed tied directly to being straight such as the politics of dating as a teen and school dances etc etc and how everyone was so judgemental and would comment and attack you based on who you liked or didn't like or poke fun at the fact you got rejected or even that the fat girl likes you etc etc - but none of that i would ever in a million years think for a second that "man if I only grew up in Texas where they are way more straight and based then all of this would be so much easier"

by spaceman Bryce k

As to the allegations of ageism there is something you aren’t considering about my point of view because I agree at times I have been overly critical of some older posters and i’m sorry. It’s not my fault most of the posters I debated on stuff were older than me

*older than I am
