I'd 3-bet preflop and bet flop.
As played I like the c/r on the flop. I would then bet turn. I really don't understand why you check there.
As played, I'd call river.

checking ott seems silly

That's right, the check on turn was horrible. I gave him the possibility of seeing another street and completing his draw for free.

What are you doing when a turn/river club comes?

And you lose value vs worse Ts

I think in this case the amount of villain's bluff combos decreases drastically and it would be check/fold, or not?

Tbf checking the A makes checking a lot more reasonable on the turn since you block a whole lot of the flush draws right? BTN still has all the overpairs+ in their range, ATx doesn't feel great OOP OTR after check raise flop and bet call turn.

Do you think it was best to fold on the river?

no never fold the river, this is BTNvBB ranges are quite wide. too many broadways + BDSD/BDFD hands that just completely miss. BTN can also comfortably value bet the same hand.

A check/call on the turn is not considered a gross mistake.
Usually, the Top Pairs that we raise on the flop move into the defense range on the turn.
Of course, we should not worry too much about this on nl5.

I don't like the call preflop more than anything on this hand.
It is better to fold or 3bet on the small blind.

While I was playing the hand, I decided to check on the turn because I felt that TPTK wasn't a strong enough hand to play for stack, and a second barrel was going to lead to that. Analyzing it later I see that by checking on the turn I am leaving a free card to the villain.
