Official Online NLHE Chat Thread
Setting this up as a place to keep low-effort content all in one place (graphs, funny hand histories, etc.). Think it would be fun to have a thread just for the online NLHE people, since it's a relatively small community
I just started playing online again after about a 5 mo hiatus from online. Ive been playing in some juicy live games at a new poker room that just came to town.
So I started at 50nl instead of my usual 100 just to get back into the swing of it. Wasn't running well and not playing well either, little rusty.
So after a couple days I decide to go to 25nl to get my online aggression back. Cant play that way live bc they will call down w any piece of the board.
Immediately start running amazing of course. Funny how that happens. Run bad at higher limits, drop down and immediately run amazing. Cant make money that way.
Cant wait to play live again. Hard to fit in the time with a crazy work schedule and then home life. Wife doesnt want to be left home alone all wife. I need to get a wife sitter haha
Took a little shot at 100nl today. Ran a K high flush into an A high flush for 1 buyin and lost another one to 3b pots that i flopped horribly on
The dream...unfortunately no big pots and he left after like 10 hands.
Anyone here spent $70 on a t-shirt to embrace the GTO lifestyle?
it's 2024. If you want to win you have to embrace the GTO lyfestyle!
I ordered four
Plus shipping.
Get 7 so you only have to do laundry once a week.
You're at a 6 handed table and directly to your left is an aggro reg. He's playing something like 35/30/15 WWSF in the 50s
There's no major whale at the table.
Are you sticking around, and trying to adjust, or just leaving the game?
That's the worst player type to have directly to your left. If there are no fish, you would be losing significantly unless you way outclass the other regs.
Im staying put and showing all those regs that theirs a new damn sherriff in town and they barking up the wrong tree messing with me. Who cares that its nl50 and we are paying 10bb/100 in rake and that there is probably numerous other tables with at lesst one 40vpip whale. Maybe two. Momma aint raise no bitch.
Jokes aside depends on your motives. Do you just play for fun and enjoy testing your skill and enjoy the intellectual challenge? Hell yeah battle it out.
Are you trying to maximize your winrate and move up stakes? Then snap quit that table and find a better one.
I'd stay if there weren't any other tables up and I didn't care about the money.

A little of column A, little of column B
Its amazing how crazy variance can be. Ive lost 4 in a row preflop all ins w KK vs AK.

I may have mentioned them before, but you really should try the Jackpot Sit N Go's if you're still playing Bonition.
You'll get to used to variance in no time, and the $20 and unders are all extremely soft if you put in a little study time.

I have played them a couple times way long ago just for the hell of it. Im just on a very long run bad, i have been on them before but this is the worst in over 20 yrs playing poker. I had a nice like 3 mo heater where i quadrupled my bankroll, then for 6 mos i ran horrible and lost it all, then i took a 5mo break and came back and the runbad just kept going. Its not a big deal as far as money as I have a large live poker roll and the games are incredibly soft, so i can reload without issue, its just demoralizing more than anything. I got back into online for the challenge

They are extremely soft even if you don't put in a little study time.
