New Jersey Online Poker Thread
I wonder if NJ is a big enough market, with big enough liquidity pools, to attract a lot of Black Friday expats to return to the US to play here. Unlike Nevada and Delaware, New Jersey has really significant population. And that's without compacts. If NJ could sign compacts with other states quickly, why wouldn't players stuck in foreign lands relocate to NJ? They'd be close to Manhattan and Philly, they'd have access to both live and online play. Seems like a natural.

Edit/MH:
Here is info located on the NJ DGE site. Golden Nugget did not make the cut. It also shows the websites authorized. A lot more than expected IMHO.

Hello, I play online MTTs. I might be forced to move to NJ (Atlantic city) because of my gf's job. Currently I am able to play Bodog, ACR, GG (VPN), Global poker. Chico. Among these 5 sites there is enough action for me to make a decent living. I have three questions:
1) on which of these I will be still able to play?
2) when combined the legal online sites in New Jersey and some live tournaments is it possible to make a living in New Jersey as an online MTT pro?
3) how exactly should I be filing my taxes as an online poker pro? or the legal sites like 888 will automatically deduct the tax?

Techincally you can't play on any of the non-legislated sites. Now how that is enforceable is iffy. But you can definitely make a good living playing online MTTs here, there's enough between WSOP, Borgatapoker, and Pokerstars to make above avrage AC salar. You can get an idea by looking at some of the PG&C posts of NJ regulars (search redsox who is/was full time MTT player).
Finally Taxes, you should look at the taxes section, shouldn't be different from playing online elsewhere in US. The poker sites will issue you an end of year report, but generally no W2s are served unless for big scores or table games.
Good luck!
Can everyone please start emailing WSOP NJ and request to have the removal/restriction of the casino on the WSOP NJ poker client per request by the player.
Many players like myself don't want the casino available to our poker funds. Other poker sites will restrict the casino per request. At the very least wsop should change the responsible gaming section so Poker and Casino are separate so players can set different limits to each area as desired. Many players like myself want a higher limit for poker than they do for the casino and doesn't help if they are combined.
After the client update on BetMGM New Jersey, the software crashes from 2015-2017 is bacck with a vengeance. Now my client crashes once every 50mins or so, with no error message. Posting here as a warning to others! (No solution available)
I got an email that said:
Here’s a heads-up that 888casino and 888poker will be leaving New Jersey on June 3rd.
But there's nothing on the app or website. If this is spam, it was very good spam, as it had my first name and username.
Any idea if this is real or not?
(I am quite aware of the symbolism that this is the first post in this forum in 5 years).

got the same email. looks legit. I took my money off there quite a while ago. I think they gave up on NJ long ago.

FYI,
888, with its 888casino and 888poker products, will be leaving the New Jersey market on June 17, 2024. Rest assured, your funds will remain secure; however, please withdraw your available funds at your earliest convenience.

Anyone know the top sites in terms of cash game tables NLHE/PLO mid-stakes nowadays? I imagine it’s primarily pokerstars/wsop.com?
Has anyone else had issues with the partypoker/betmgm client not loading the log in page in the poker client? I haven’t been able to log in in over 2 weeks. I am using a MacBook
Hey all, any NJ poker players interested in a meetup in Jersey City? It'd be nice to meet someone you in person. I think the last one was back in 2015 when Poker stars first opened.
I can also see if we can get some BetMGM management to join.
Does anyone know of the three BetMGM skins, which one provides the best rakeback?
I've read the guides below, and it seems a bit outdated as rake has gone up in the new year. It looks like Party is the only one that gives Cashback but does BetMGM points transfer for cash? Not sure how it works. Thanks in advance.
