I've set myself another goal which will run for 1 year. Pool entries also available.
I'm back from a 6 month around-the-world trip during which I did not play a single hand of poker.
Time to get back to it but I need a goal.
Below is what I came up with. I'll try and rank as high as I can at this.
I also set it up as a pool so if anyone is interested, let me know.
I can maybe give out small Amazon gift certificates to anyone who can beat my entry.
Pool entry deadline would be December 1st and the start date will be November 1st.
Feel free to challenge me heads-up too. However, if your name is Benny Glaser, I'm waving the white flag right now!

THE FINE PRINT FOR THE POOL:
"country/state"
The USA is broken down into it's 50 states plus District Of Columbia.
UK is broken down into England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland
UK will be the correct country if the player is from the UK but we cannot determine where in the UK
USA will be the correct country if the player is from the USA but we cannot determine where in the USA
What is a country?: PokerStars/HM/WSOP get to decide
Which country:
PokerStars will decide this if the player is PokerStars only
Otherwise, we use (in this order) WSOP place of birth, HM place of birth, HM residence, WSOP residence
Geographic area:
Wikipedia will determine which country/state is in which geographic area
Which games:
Any live series that starts between Novomber 1st 2023 and October 31st 2024 and has at least 1 non-flop tournament.
Online (PokerStars) tournaments TBD (stay tuned) (the SCOOP, WCOOP, Micro Millions of course qualify but we'll add weeklies too).
Daily, recurring, satellites, restricted entry (except for age and/or sex restrictions), group entry tournaments will not count.
Scoring:
game ranking: most $ earned in payouts (high score wins)
Entries (if we get enough interest):
I will not look at anyone else's entry until I post mine.
You can enter any time up until the end of November.
You can enter at any time but you can make changes right up to December 1st.
Badugi:
Badugi ain't poker! However, if it's in a mixed game we'll count it as one.
Hidden players:
Any player who hides their results from HM will stay hidden.
Might be some delay with online results as PokerStars is crashing today.
I tried logging on 4 times today and the system crashed each time.
The first time I got a message saying PokerStars wasn't working but the last 3 it just crashed without explanation.
Anyone else having this problem?

Everything works. Perhaps it was technical work related to the implementation of a new reward program.
The first of the WSOP pools is now open for entries.
Includes all summer 2024 tournaments in Vegas.
No entry fee.
Only small prizes - mostly just for fun
Thread is in Puzzles & Other Games.
Thread to enter is here.
BTW, if anyone wants to make this into a $ entry pool, go right ahead.
I had to only deal with PayPal once to say "never again".

28 Feb - 8 Mar 2024 United States PKRGO PokerGO Tour - 2024 PGT Mixed Games, Las Vegas
My goodness, PokerStars run a lot of special series.
I thought it was just WCOOP, SCOOP, MicroMillions and maybe 1 or 2 others.
No, they just start up another when one has run it's course.
We're on a few days rest now but Carnival starts up on the 28th. Carnival? Never heard of it.
That is why the top 100 is almost all online players. Less than 10% of the total cashes are from live events.
And of those <10%, <10% are non-NLH. So less than 1% are live non-NLH cashes.
So, just to see what it would look like, here are the Top 100 if only live cashes are included:
In the last few days we've had a respite from the relentless onslaught of online results to add some live only results.
However, online players still dominate with the exception of Alan Engel who got cash #14 (all live) to move up from #22 to #10.
Made the mistake of playing one of PokerStars NLH donkaments.
I've cashed with 516K chips so I have to stick around and waste my time playing this tedious game.
With every all-in I'm hoping I lose!
Haha.
I'm all in with AQ against TT.
No ace comes on the board. I'm outta here? No, the board had 2 3 4 5.
A good beat/bad beat story.
Finally out. My 66 called by 77 with another 7 on the flop.
$9 cash.
I really don't think I need to play much any more. Unless someone wants to try and catch me I can just cruise home.
I need to put all by energy into my SUMMER IN VEGAS (Puzzles & Other Games) competition.
I'm off the Vegas on Wednesday for a week - looking for another live cash for the Summer In Vegas pre-season play.
I'm currently on Team Dave for Mixed Games but a cash playing Chowaha should lock up a spot for me on the team.
not much changing on the standings
here's the hardest working players: over 50 cashes
Jerry Odeen - 58 cashes (2 live - 56 online)
last update before Vegas
I'll be back on the 8th
can't do the weekly PekerStars since I don't have the ID numbers
can do the Carnaval Series as ID numbers are already available
I have almost a 4% lead over 2nd place Murilo - looking good for the win
a few more qualifying series:
20 Feb - 4 Mar 2024 United States Leap into Spring Series - Los Colinas, Irving
21 Feb - 16 Mar 2024 United States Bally's Colorado Poker Championship, Black Hawk
25 - 29 Feb 2024 United States Cardplayer Lifestyle Mixed Game Festival VII, Las Vegas
26 Feb - 3 Mar 2024 Romania Vamos Poker Tour - VPT Bucharest 2024, Bucharest
28 Feb - 10 Mar 2024 Taiwan APT Asian Poker Tour - APT Taipei, Taipei City
Just back from Vegas and I have my home game today - not much time to do stats.
Updated the Tampa live tournaments and the NL27 from Carnaval.
Expect better updates this weekend.
what a life
Now including all non-NLH Carnaval results.
Weekend results added. LucasMarcano moves up to 3rd.
And let's not forget, the draft is still running. So far, only Wilipedia is in the money.
Played my first regular PokerStars tournie in a week. Picked up $14 for NLO (courchevel style).
However, I have such a good lead that I don't really need to play any more. I could probably just cruise home in this contest.
I need somebody to take a run at me! I'm sure there are plenty of players who are way better than me who could beat me if they would just give it a try.
So, I'm off to Taipei on the 25th to play in the APT tournaments there.
The APT results are included in this contest but more importantly, they are included in the "Summer In Vegas" contest.
Right now I'm a member of Team Dave but I'm not too confident of staying on the team. I need another cash or two in Taipei.
Still an almost 4% lead. I can relax for awhile.
most recent standings
I'm off to Taipai today so there will be no updates until I'm back (March 11th).
I will not have the tournament IDs for the next 2 weekends.
I do have the IDs for the Irish Open Online.
turn out the lights..... the party's over
OK, not quite but I'm about 99.99% percent sure of winning: I just cashed in a 4-game in APT Taipei
4-game is a very rare game. I finished 4th in a NL ROSE!!!
Most of the other players had no idea what they were doing.
On the opening hand of the tournament I went all-in when the other player was showing QQ on 4th street. This was Razz. He called!!!!!
Doubled up on hand #1.
Back from Taipei and I see things have only gotten worse (for those trying to catch me).
Now my lead is over 5%.
While away a virus has made it's home on my computer. It ate one line of code. The line was for populating the "from" field. Should be easy to fix.
I was thinking that if LucasMarcano ever cashed in NLH, he'd be dangerous.
Well, he has his first NLH cash ($22) and he moves into 2nd place overall but he's still about 4 1/2% behind me.
Let's go Lucas!
Keeping you up to date but nothing has changed. I've still got a 4 1/2% lead.
We now have over 90,000 players in this competition. 89,999 of whom do not realize they are playing in this competition.
May I point out #20 (Alan Engel) who now has 22 cashes. These are all live cashes (no online cashes). Pretty amazing.
