My Dad's best friend was a gunsmith. When I was 5 he had him build me a cut down 22 rifle. I still have some of the first targets I shot at, not bad groupings considering I was 5 years old.

I had to FIGHT my mom to get a BB gun when I was about 8-9 years old... it was a real battle. My dad was fine with it, but my mom was completely against it. We finally wore her down... and at that years Christmas, a long and narrow box appeared underneath the tree a week before the 25th. Understandably I was over the moon excited... to the point where I hatched a plan and waited until both my parents were away at work and I opened the present to reveal to wondrous content... as NEW Daisy ten pump airgun.
I tried to be a stealthy as possible, but when I went to get the wrapping paper to rewrap the present, there wasn't enough similar paper left to finish the present... so I used two completely different wrapping papers, it was so obvious that I had opened it... no one ever said anything. Mission complete!
