** TWIN PEAKS: EPISODE BY EPISODE **
"Sheβs deadβ¦ Wrapped in plasticβ¦"

Twin Peaks started as a series in 1990, produced by the director David Lynch and Mark Frost. It ran for 2 seasons, and concerned itself with the characters and community of a lumber town, Twin Peaks, and centred on the investigation of the murder of a popular and well-liked member of this community, Laura Palmer.
It was a genuine TV phenomena back then across the world, with the mystery being a big talking point. I remember pages and pages of magazines and newspapers going through all the evidence and the theories of how was involved, who killed her, and why. It's was hellish good fun. Equally talked about was the weirdness of the series, and the quirky characters and dialogue. Finally, everyone realised there was a genuie quality in the making of the series that was so absent in many TV dramas of the time.
This thread is intended to be a running episode-by-episode analysis and discussion of the entire run. I'll try and do a brief synposis each episode avoiding spoilers in these where possible, to give everyone a chance to catch up (especially since season 1 is hard to get)
The program of discussion, which I'll update in this starting post as it goes on, is currently as follows:
SEASON ONE
PILOT - 26th March
Episode 1 - 30th March
Episode 2 - 2nd April
Episode 3 - 13th April
Episode 4 - 16th April
Episode 5 - 20th April

I am rewatching Twin Peaks for the 8th or 9th time. Just watched the incredible episode from season 2 where we, the audience, see who the killer actually is for the first time.
This show never gets old.

Michael Malice has a pretty good podcast episode with Agent Cooper that just came out. They have some good Twin Peak talk!
I'm 4 episodes from the end of season 2, and loving it. Also listening to a wonderful podcast alongside this rewatch where they are currently going through it episode by episode, called 'The Rewatch Project', husband and wife rewatching Twin Peaks.
lol I just keep rewatching season 3 over and over again
DL is going to revive 2 peaks...
I'm doing yet another rewatch. This time, with an enormous amount of nostalgia. Seeing these incredible actor 35 years ago...with so many of them gone now. And the young actors are so, so beautiful.
One episode that really grabs me is episode 3, which doesn't get a whole lot of attention, it seems. But it's remarkable that this actually aired on network TV in 1990. The Tibetan rock throwing, the secret brothel in One Eyed Jacks, Audrey's dance, and our first glimpse of the Red Room with Cooper, Laura, and the Man From Another Place...all in reverse. The little man dancing...that gum you like is coming back in style...sometimes my arms bend back...
"I know who killed Laura Palmer...yes, it can wait until tomorrow."
How in the world did ABC air this lol??
Laura I get cos it could be a side room of the Lodge, but Ronette... not sure.
Probably David Lynch ****ing with people π

It definitely gets LOADS of attention in the circles I discuss TP
I rewatch Twin peaks about once every 3 years, and I finished another rewatch maybe last year
I've probably mentioned this in this thread somewhere, but anyone who likes Twin Peaks really should watch Experiment In Terror from 1962. It MUST have been a major influence on Lynch, otherwise the world doesn't make sense.
I think my favourite character arc of all TP is Bobby Briggs. I find it so moving of how he went from murderous, self-centred douchebag to a real, rounded man who understands life so much better.
But Ed and Norma is very close.
My favorite is Harry. I was sad that he wasn't in the movie or season 3.
And it's a shame that Lara Flynn Boyle was apparently a handful, not just during TP, but in in her subsequent, short career. Because she was so damn good.
